I apologize for the delayed response. Despite the date, I have decided it appropriate to reply anyways.

 

The staff promotion process is time consuming. We prioritize fresh minds & perspectives but have to make contrasting choices in our selection process—often when pressed for time.

 

Ex-staff typically

  • do not require training or extensive interviews
  • settle in their role quickly
  • do not exhibit unknown/unexpected behaviour

These traits are useful for highly demanding roles, roles with high recent turnover, and ones that require extensive knowledge of their field.

 

What we can do.
We won’t go into the practice of forcing our directors to select fresh candidates. Especially with 6.0 looming on the horizon. However, once we are comfortable in the new map we can take a riskier approach.

 

 

To touch on the other point: on occasion, staff misjudge their situation and quit. Shortly after, a stressful situation resolves—and they are once again available. We are generally happy to welcome them back.
