Aether-Wave Pirates

Tasius stood just off the shore of the island, the sea rising and falling below his feet. The Volcano was spewing a steady cloud of ash and smoke. The Topal base was mostly wooden, and if the volcano erupted now, the entire thing would be gone in a heartbeat.

8622264e1d7ba2472cc979cfaee833ef.jpg

The workers were walking around, setting up another hut to act as temporary housing for the base. Tasius imagined the volcano erupting right now. The lava and ash pouring down. The workers, with not enough ships to flee, caught in the flow. Burned away.

Tasius shook his head, and sighed. Studying the Volcano, he admired the height. The volcano, dangerous and intimidating, would not stop it’s eruption for anything. Tasius sighed, and walked from the ocean, back to the base. Heading into the main structure, he sat at his temporary desk, and closed his eyes.

If the volcano was gonna erupt no matter what, Topal Island was likely a lost cause. Workers had been deployed across the island, and some even below the waves, searching for possible signs as to what kind of eruption the volcano would undergo…

If the eruption was calm, or at least as calm as an eruption could be, with the lava simply flowing over the edge, then perhaps the flow could be redirected. If not… well, Tasius had no desire to imagine the destruction it could cause.

Opening an eye, Tasius poured himself a large glass of Jahb’Dan. Throwing back most of the glass in the first gulp, opens both eyes, and begins to write a letter.

“Dras’kay Ko’Khatherra.

I write on the subject of the Topal Island. As you know, there is a Volcano on the island. It is likely to erupt within the next few years. If the eruption is to be violent, then Soulrest may be in danger. If that is the case, I would like some of the better mages from the Academy to make their way to Soulrest, to protect it, should the eruption potentially cause damage to Soulrest.

Wo zegata nezalna, Ri’Tasius”

Rereading the letter, Tasius nods, and rolls it up. Heading back outside, he heads towards the ship bound for Senchal. Finding the captain, he hands it to him, and commands him to deliver the letter to Ko’Khatherra upon arriving at the island.

Order of the Enigma

Alecia watched as the other students walked through the library. They had all joined the Order together, but Alecia had been separated early on, because of her lessons with Master Anogon.

Sighing, she returned to her studies. Taking a book from the shelf, she set it atop the other six. She cast a telekineses spell on it, and walked it to the front of the library. The Librarian, an Orsimer named Ulmuburz gro-Shub.

Ulmuburz looks up from the book he is reading, and levels a calm stare at Alecia. Glancing at the stack of books she is levitating, he takes the first from the top, and levels her with a stare. “One of Shalidor’s books? Most Masters barely understand these. You’re, what, an adept at best? What makes you think this book is in your realm of understanding?”

Alecia pulls a scroll from her side pouch and hands it to him. “Master Anogon said to give you this, if you tried to prevent me from taking the book.”

Ulmuburz sets the book down, and takes the scroll suspiciously. He mutters under his breath as he opens and reads the scroll. “Master Anogon vouching for an adept… not likely… Let’s see… Adept Alecia Silvanana is hereby given permission to pull any book from the library if she so see’s it fit to further her studies. This includes, but is not limited to, Shalidor’s writings, Falmer, Dwemer, or Chimer translations, and any of Hermaeus Mora’s artifacts?” Ulmuburz sets the scroll down, and glares at Alecia. “No. No way that is legitimate.”

Alecia sighs. “It is my understanding that Master Anogon enchants all of his personal documents with his own magical signature. Is that not correct? Check the seal, please.”

Ulmuburz checks the seal, positive it will be incorrectly enchanted. Instead, he is stumped to find the exact traces of magic he should be. He once again looks at Alecia, this time in awe. “Who are you to have the right to claim these books?”

Alecia takes back Shalidor’s books, and nods. “Master Anogon’s apprentice, and a prodigy. Good day, Ulmuburz.” With that, Alecia walks away, the books levitating behind her, Ulmuburz staring at her in awe.

Hamzah would smile as he heard the report but would frown as he heard the word Dragons in Al-Shams, “I see, so now we have dragons in Hammerfell? Hmm have the men at the dwemer ruin find a way to smelt the metal safely and to report to me as soon as they can.” Hamzah would finish as Uthaman leaves to give out orders, “Saeed, i see that the hospital is not finished, so i suspect it done soon, but before you go.” Hamzah would stat as he places a blueprint on the table, “what do you think?” Hamzah would ask as Saeed takes a look at the blueprint, “This should work my Sultan!” Saeed says happily “Good have men who need work start constructing and fixing the walls as i place on the Blueprint here.” Hamzah would say as he sits down rubbing his head, Saeed would then nod and run off to give orders to men to work on the blueprint.

The blueprint would have the current wall repaired and made the wall all together the wall should be 40 feet in height and 15 feet thick, with a battlement parapet five feet high that was accessed by stone ramps, then there would be a second wall but only at 30 feet in height and 15 feet thick, the outside of that wall should be a deep trench at least 20 feet Wide and 30 feet Deep, the second wall would have a drawbridge to enter at side show below on map. The walls Main walls would have two towers by each gate. This massive work should be strong and not CRAPPY and Finnish in 5 years/10 post. (Copy the picture and zoom in to see location.)

The smelters take the dwarven scrap metal collected from the ruin, and toss it into the smelter, quickly turning the scrap into ingots. The scrap metal’s metal point is reachable by a regular smelter, and requires no specific methods to turn it into ingots.

The hospital is finished, to the pleasure of the people.

Work begins on the walls and gates.

The upper class is outraged at the high taxes they now must pay, with middle class also somewhat angered. Those whose taxes remain at 2 coins don’t show any major reaction, as it isn’t there problem.

Al-Sham

Locations: Elinhir

Population: 11700

Military: 1100

The walls are back to their former glory.

A plan is worked out between the Blackcasters and the soldiers. The soldiers would enter Fang Lair first, protecting the Blackcasters. As they entered Fang Lair, they felt as though the place would either spring to life, or collapse to rubble.

Traveling deeper into Fang Lair, many soldiers are lost to traps, and other monsters that had taken residence in the old ruin. The dragon had yet to even be encountered, and over 100 men had perished.

After several more hours of exploring the lair, the group finally came to rest. During the “night” the men came under attack by ghosts. The soldiers, without magic, or silver weapons, are unable to defend themselves, and must rely on the Blackcasters to protect them.

After the onslaught of ghosts is over, nearly half the surviving group of soldiers quit, and refuse to proceed further. Half the Blackcasters remain with them, to protect them. 150 soldiers died in the ghostly onslaught.

The remaining soldiers, who had let to lose their nerve, head deeper into the lair. After a few more hours, they come across their goal; the dragon.

The soldiers do their best to protect the Blackcasters, so they could weave their spells. With shield, sword, and bow, they distract the dragon. After nearly an hour of hard fighting, the Blackcasters manage to finally slay the dragons. Thanks to the Blackcasters intervention, the Dragon only managed to kill 50 soldiers, with blistering flame, and fang and claw, though another 100 no longer found themselves capable of fighting, due to heavy injuries.

After the dragon was slayed, the Blackcasters and the soldiers existed the lair with few losses. The Blackcasters inform the soldiers that they planned to claim Fang Lair for themselves, and use it to rebuild a proper mage order in Hammerfell.

The surviving soldiers return to Elinhir with the news of the dragon’s death, and the Blackcaster’s announcement. (-400 Soldiers (Only -300 Population, as 100 of those soldiers are still alive, but heavily injured) Already represented above)

The work begins on the battering ram. It’s rough, but it should work, if it can reach the gate, and do it’s job without incident.

Scouts find no way into Skyrim from Bruma, beyond the extremely harsh option of going over the mountains, which would probably end in more losses than it’s worth.

The army marches down the pass towards the Falkreath gate. The cavalry arrive first, and manage to “surprise “ the army, but are unable to actually cause any damage, as the entire army is on the checkpoint’s wall. Arrows fired from the cavalry are easily dodged, and more than a few cavalry perish holding the checkpoint’s attention.

The battering ram slowly pushes up the pass, before finally coming close to the gate. A large pot of oil is poured over the battering ram, though most of the men are untouched, as the battering ram is covered. The defenses true ploy is revealed moments later. An archer fires a flaming arrow at the top of the battering ram, and the oil goes up in flames quickly. With nowhere to go, except through the flames, and the battering ram slowly burning up, the fifty men burn, their screams echoing through the pass. The remaining men flee back to the Bruma checkpoint. (-75 Military)

Skalei and Ko’Khatherra continue to work on the book, but have no conclusive reports. They have theories, but nothing solid enough to report yet.

After an extensive search of the island, the workers charged with investigating the type of eruption report no signs of major strain. The volcano would (as far as they could tell) simply overflow, as opposed to launching it into the sky.

They crossed the border into Senchal around midday. Nothing stopped them.

They crossed through the forests of Senchal, stopping to rest at night. Nothing stopped them.

They arrived at the city “gate”. This was the first, and only defense the city had.

The small army of the Aether-Wave Pirates was already spread between two counties, and Topal Island. The forces of Torval, proudly flying their banner, marched as far as the city border without a fight.

Senchal’s defense consisted of 600 trained soldiers, and most of the mages.

Torval’s assault consisted of a 1000 trained soldiers, and several mages.

With no walls to limit the fighting, the soldiers fight in the streets, while the mages launch attacks mostly over their heads.

Every mage, except the Novices, helps in the battle. 1 Master, 3 Experts, 2 Adepts and 7 Apprentices can be seen, weaving through the battlefield, helping Senchal’s forces where they can.

Torval’s mages do not. They wait until Senchal’s mages are weak, without Magicka. Then they strike. The tired Apprentices and Adepts do not last a minute against Torval’s rested Adepts. Ko’Khatherra, and the 3 experts last far longer, but are too weakened to win against 8 fully rested mages. Regardless, it takes the combined magical efforts of both Torval’s Experts, and Adepts to finally bring them down. With most of Senchal’s soldiers dead, and only the novices remaining. As many people as possible flee to the docks, in an attempt escape before Torval’s forces can reach them.

3000 people manage to get away on the boats. Ra’Bhidar, Bolonar, Sonya, Milhye, and Skalei manage to escape. The novices escape as well.

Ko’Khatherra and Dro’Ato do not. The remaining soldiers of Senchal remain at the docks, fighting to give the ships as much time as possible to escape. (-600 Military, -1 Master, -3 Experts, -2 Adepts, -7 Apprentices, -7200 Population, -Senchal, and all it’s resources)

Order of the Enigma

Master Anogon stepped into the hidden staircase, heading down to the room. The room was entirely stone, light by magelight. The floor, walls, and even the ceiling were immaculate. The man he had come to see demanded it be that way, or it would interfere with his test results. Searching the room, he saw the man sitting at his desk.

Approaching him, the man turned to face Master Anogon. He stood, and bowed his head. “Master Anogon. To what do I owe this visit?”

The man was Redguard, rather short at 4’ 4”, and pudgy, with his gut wobbling with every movement. He was balding, most of his hair having fallen out years ago. The man was old enough to be able to have grandchildren, but had neither grandchildren, or even children.

“Dr. Athous. How have the tests come along?” Dr. Athous grinned, and gathered several sheets of paper from his desk, turning to hand the small pile to Master Anogon. “The tests have come along swimmingly. Subject RW 029 has proven to be especially interesting. Within a few years, the subject should be able to be released back into the wild, and we can see how it influences the environment. With any luck, we’ll see natural adaptation a few generations afterwards.”

Master Anogon nodded, flipping through the report. “Right. Continue running the tests. If there are any dramatic changes, contact me immediately.”

Dr. Athous nodded, and returned to his desk. Master Anogon takes the report, and returns to his office, to give it a proper look.

Aether-Wave Pirates

595fad9c69b21_Aether-WaveFlag.png.15acc73e1b038572cae32b991e3e6821.png

Tasius stood on the edge of Topal Island. The Boats had arrived at Soulrest a few hours ago, and he had recieved the message by bird.

Senchal had been attacked by Torval. 600 soldiers were dead. The mages were dead. Ko’Khatherra was dead.

Tasius walked out onto the ocean. On auto-pilot, he cast water-walking on himself. He walked for over a mile into the ocean. He looked around, dead-eyed. Nothing but sea for over a mile. Turning to face the sunset in the distance, he screamed. He screamed out his anguish, he screamed out his pain, he nearly screamed out his very soul.

When he finally went silent, there was only one thing left. The one thing he wouldn’t LET himself scream out.

Anger.

Anger at Torval. Anger at the world. Anger at himself.

Anger at Mane Ri’Ha Jarkaron.

He began walking back towards Topal Island. Half-way back, his magic gave out. He fell into the ocean, and just floated, his anger boiling inside him. After just floating for several minutes, he swam back to the island, set sail to Soulrest.

------------------------------------------------

The storm outside raged. It started only a few minutes ago, but the thunder shook the floor with each crash. The door crashed open, Tasius standing in the doorway, just as thunder shook the building and lightning arced across the sky. Ra’Bhidar, Bolonar, Sonya, and Milhye stared in shock at Tasius.

Ra’Bhidar recovered first. “Tasius…”

Tasius raised a hand, silencing him. “We are going to wipe Torval from history.”

The four threw nervous glances at one another. Sonya spoke first. “Tasius, I know you’re hurting but-”

The looks could kill, then Sonya would’ve been erased from history, from the look Tasius gave her. She silently sat down, and studied him. Tasius stepped into the room, dripping water all over the floor.

“Torval took our home. They killed our people. There is a reckoning coming, so be it. Torval shall suffer.”

The four pirates looked at one another, before silently nodding. Tasius nodded as well, and swept back out into the storm, business to attend to.

------------------------------------------------

The novices were huddled in the home the adepts had been granted during their stay. The novices were frightened, shaken from the battle practically outside their door. Tasius came into the home, as if he owned it. The novices and adepts quickly arranged themselves when he called. He looked at the novices. “You were at the battle. What did you see?”

The novices tried to recall everything they could, and told Tasius all they knew. Tasius sat, listening to every detail, interrupting rarely. When the novices finished, Tasius stood, and nodded. “Thank you. Now, I have a question for you. Did you feel powerless, watching your fellow mage, your fellow man, get cut down, when you could do nothing?”

The novices, silent for a moment, each nodded. “Good. Then another question for you. Do you want power? The power to protect, the power to take. The power for revenge?”

The novices took far less time answering this question. They agreed, ready to do anything for that power.

Tasius nodded, and pointed out the window at the rain pouring down. “That is the world, that is Nirn, crying about Torval’s betrayal.” Lightning arced across the sky, thunder crashing. “And that… that is it’s anger. It’s fury. That is the power we will channel to take back our homes. To drive Torval from where they aren’t wanted. The power to drive deeper into their territory, and show them what it’s like to lose their homes, their lives. That power is what we strive for. We will strive to replicate this same storm. We will strive to replicate Nirn’s anguish, and it’s fury. We will strive to make both ours, and to use it to show Torval the mistakes they made.”

The mages cheer. Following Tasius, he leads them into the storm. Tasius showed them their goal. He showed them the power to rival the storm. He showed them the strength to both reclaim Senchal, and punish Torval.

That night, those novices, and those adepts, saw the depths of the power they could wield. They saw their futures, and the power they would hold. They saw the ferocity of Nirn, of Tasius, of themselves. With a new-found fire in their soul, they prepared for the long journey towards claiming that power.

--------------------------------------------------

Later that week, a service was held for Ko’Khatherra, and those others lost at Senchal. Her body was kept preserved by magic, and would not be buried until Senchal was reclaimed, so she could be buried in her beloved forest, near the Magic Academy.

Many people spoke at the service. Tasius did not. Afterwards, the crowd broke apart, for others to personally grieve. Tasius stood before the memorial, and stared at Ko’Khatherra’s name, etched near the top. After several minutes, he left, never having said a word to anyone.

County of Evermore

Kf5Yozw.jpg
Location: Evermore headquarters, War room

Count Other observed the map in front of him. Wayrest, the next inevitable stepping stone to unification and without taking it almost totally making re-unifcation impossible. Evermore did not have access to the sea, he needed Wayrest if he wanted to get in proper contact with the other regions without being intercepted by Orisium agents. Yet how would he defeat the Orisium, a direct approach hadn't worked and would almost inevitably lead to more massive casualties and no guarantee of victory. The problem was that the Orisium were too strong, they had just as many if not more troops as him if they united like seen with the two Orisium from different tribes fighting together at Wayrest. How was he supposed an enemy with superior numbers than him and superior strength and size. Strength and size strength and size. Then Uther got an Eureka moment. He could and would not only be able to defeat the Orisium by fighting them head to head they needed to do what humans/elves were best at, being sly and covert. They would not fight in the light they would fight in the shadows and the dark, they would shoot where the enemy wasn't looking and then change position. The Orisium could have all the brute force they wanted, it would not matter once they got an arrow in the neck. It was time for the shadow guard

Morning Star - Mid Year

SE 78

The Golden Dominion

Locations: Alinor

Population: 12000

Military: 1000

Large amounts of effort and resources are put into producing an exceptional shipyard.

Councilor Elinver welcomes Queen Athaere into his home. As the two have already met, no substantial introductions have been made, except the standard one for a visiting diplomat. Councilor Elinver is clearly wealthy, and due to his position as right-hand to Lady Elanrine, he know more about the day to day operations than anyone.

General Hondil refuses to meet with Queen Athaere, on the grounds of the “implications of the title”. From what she can gather however, General Hondil has served in the military for many years, earning the respect of the soldiers, and many of the citizens as well. He has a bit of reputation for being hot blooded, but bold and honest as well.

Lord Jovmro allows Queen Athaere onto his (opulent) property, which isn’t actually in the city of Shimmerene, but rather closer to the border between Shimmerene and Cloudrest. The man himself is heavyset, and demanding of his servants. From the moment his eyes land on Queen Athaere, he’s constantly offering her extravagances such as sweets and liqueurs. Despite his extravagant nature, he never once fails to interpret Queen Athaere’s desires, at times even before she is aware she desired it.

Hegathe

Population: 10000

Khalastine

Locations: Skaven

Population: 8400

Military: 1520

Work continues on the first set of walls and gates. They are brought up to the quality of Skaven’s original walls, with some minor reinforcement.

The diplomat is refused entrance at the city of Taneth. He is unable to deliver the letter and returns to Skaven.

Despite the recruitment efforts, only 500 men are recruited.

The celebration is uneventful.

The blacksmiths report that the dwemer scrap metal that was brought back from the ruins has run out, and there is nowhere near enough to outfit the entire army. There is enough ingots to outfit either 250 men with dwemer weapons (Melee of Choice, and a Bow), or 100 men with dwemer armor. They await the Sultan’s decision.

Al-Sham

Locations: Elinhir

Population: 11700

Military: 2100

The Blackcasters refuse to join Elinhir, as they wish to remain independent of any one nation’s politics. They also refuse to give up Fang Lair as the location has too much potential as a headquarters for them.

The Blackcasters also refuse the men’s access to the Dragon’s corpse, as the definitive final blow was clearly the Blackcasters. This claim is supported by soldiers who fought beside them.

A thousand men join the military.

325 men are brought in front of the Sultan, and promoted to the Royal Guard.

Jerallian High Chiefdom

WITHDRAWN FROM GAME

County of Evermor

Locations: Evermor

Population: 13400

Military: 1500

The Shadow Guard continues it’s training, this time with far more resources than previously.

Scouts head into Wayrest’s territory, and learns the terrain. The city of Wayrest is located near the coast, closer to the bottom of the mountains, while Orsinium is located closer to the peak of the mountains. Attacking from further up the mountain is unlikely, due to the harsher environment near the peak.

Aether-Wave Pirates

Locations: Soulrest

Population: 10000

Military: 2250

1500 Men are recruited for the Military.

Thanks to Tasius’s incredible speech, both Novices and Adepts throw themselves into their lessons, and under Tasius’s tutelage, both the Novices and Adepts show real promise. (+1 Expert, -1 Adept, +2 Apprentices, -2 Novices)

Order of the Enigma

[1AP] Send some men (30) to ask if we can mine the dewmer ruins to make them into ingots, inform they you have no intention on claiming the ruin as you give it to them for helping the nation, ask them if they could give one mage so you can begin training your own for your country's safety and if they will allow us to smelt the dwemer ruins and make them into ingots that it is top priority for the dwemer ruins for us, the mage does not matter to much and if they agree send 300 men to start the mineing, also find out if you can give them gold for the mineing, inform them you do not plan to keep the mine but just get the dwemer stuff

[4AP] Get 1000 more men
