A Snuffed Out Light

The rain started to mudden the earthen soil, in the city of Linandria - the home to the mali’ame.

A cleric, by the name of Ilvisar, truly beseeched a life of peace, was stuck thinking about the same thing over, and over again. Loneliness. It was something that he always forced into the back of his thoughts. He may have put on that outside facade of happiness with his smiles and laughing but truly he felt alone.

He wandered along inside of Linandria, his boots sticking into the muddy ground as he glanced among the other people who were talking, laughing, and generally enjoying everything. Oh, how he wanted to be just like them. Have a true family, a true feeling of happiness. Ivlisar could never move past the words of that one strange man.

“Do not let the ignorance of others cloud your own thoughts.”

Those words kept ringing through his head for some odd reason as he let the rain soak onto him and wet his clothes and hair. Ivlisar simply let out a deep sigh at his thoughts and went to continue on his way.

Ivlisar’s eyes bore into the ground, in his mind the feeling an invading force of darkness, an abyss enshrouding his core. He felt it, tingles everywhere. Yet nobody cared, nobody paid attention at his miscomfort, standing in the rain unmoving.

Moments passed on, and the tingles pricked his skin, his hair raising,

“Hey, are you alright?”

“He’s just standing there.”

“He’s probably crazy.”

Voices could be heard, he did not feel in control anymore, a presence much more powerful than his own began to thrive in him. Tahariae could not save him, nobody could. His hand was no longer bound to his being, as if it had it’s own mind; moving down to grasp the hilt of his blade.

“Hey . . . no weapons unsheathed, not in the city.”

A sirame spoke out, moving closer to the drenched cleric, hand on his own blade.

His hand clenched down, the cleric shivered,

“Help.  . .help me. . . I cannot control it. . .”

he panicked, yet all that came out was rasps and wheezes, overtaken by the loud thudding of the downpour.

In one swift motion, the cleric’s hand which wielded the blade, plunged into his own neck, out through the back. There was so much blood, and pained wheezes.

Screams of terror and disgust would overtake the Wood Elven city,

“Evark sends his regards . . .”

the cleric managed to choke out, before falling flat on the earthen soil, dead.

((Didn't you just quit?))

A woman shakes her head at the news. "I called this long ago." She'd mutter to herself. "Coward."

The news would soon reach Elvira and she bows her head.

"Poor Ivlisar... If only I knew he was going under such trauma, I could have ensured such would not have happened. He was certainly a lovely cleric. Nervous but he had heart that I admired."

The Prime Adherent would then head down to the Sanctum of Lucerna Temple to light a small candle and devote ten minutes towards the fallen cleric. Once again, the clerics had lost another brother of light.

"Tahariae watch over you, young Ivlisar..."

Nynaeve Sagehand would have received the news, causing her to collapse where she stood and let out a loud sob.

"Ivlisar....my...my son.." she let out pained sobs, her hands coming to her face.

After she numbed herself to the pain of losing her son, she found a small place in her grove and set up a small sapling.

"May the Aspects guide you....Ivlisar Sagehand."

With that, Nynaeve moved back into her little hobble of a home.
