The Dumbest Way to Die

Eadwulf spents the last remaining days in his room, at his desk writing about his life in the manor in Haense.

 

 

A journal would lay on his desk, upon further investigation it would read:

 

“Age 0-17”

“I don't remember much of my childhood.. it's all a fuss.

What I do remember is I am the second son of Theodoric and Emma Stafyr.”

 

He looks out the window where the snow falls, He sighs as his quill touches the paper again to continue

 

“Age 17-19”

“It all started when I was seventeen, I wondered around Axios to see its beauty. One day I was in Lorraine, Metz to be exact. Here I was recognised, the man called me a lord. He told me all about my family and a relative that lived in Lorraine. I went out to find him..”

 

“Age 19-21”

“My travels lead me to Sutica, a peaceful town where every thief, mercenary and begger were accepted. I didn't mind at all, but the smell was awful. I ran into a dark elf who showed me the way to Altaron-II his house. On the way he informed me that he passed away but left something to a relative who found it first. Once in his house I read the note, it stated “I, Altaron-II will leave my wealth and my titles to the next Stafyr who finds this note.” From this point on I was not just a man who roamed Axios, now I was a lord”

 

Eadwulf stood up from his chair, and walked downstairs where his son was playing with some toys, Eadwulf gave his son a smile and went to play with him. Eventually He went back to his bed where he stayed.

 

“Age 21-22”

“At this point i had to find a new home, I went looking around but remained at Lorraine for some time.

I found a man who claimed that he wanted to restore Oren, his name was Arthur Jrent. I believed his message instantly and I followed him around. I then resigned my oath from Lorraine to place myself under Arthur. I worked very diligently to get his favour.”

 

“Age 22-22”

“My closest friend and Liege had passed away, his titles passed to Peter Sigismund Horen. He offered me the duchy in turn I would bow for him and call him my liege, I accepted.”

 

“Age 22-23”

“My duchy is a wreck, my people abandoned me and I am sitting here with my newborn son and wife. I need to do something..

 

I tried all I could but my duchy is a failure, I went to see the emperor today but court ended just when I entered so I told one of his advisors that I want my duchy to be disolved.. I'm moving to Haense.”

 

“Age 23-23”

"I am now living in the manor just by Alban, it's quiet and remote. It gives me so much time to think. It's a beautiful place for my son to grow up.

I leave you my land, i may have given up my titles but i still hold land which i grand to you. May you grow good crops, and raise good men on it.

“Age 24”

Eadwulf was always a hard working, care taking and righteous man. He was a man of his faith but why did he had to leave so soon.

He was just writing in his journal when he was struck by a stroke and by the time that people got to him he was already laying dead in his chair, his quill in on the floor and ink all spilled all besides it.

His funeral was quick as the pyre was light and all known family members where there, the court of Haense was present too.

 

 

The smoke rose up and his body was burned, the ashes are put in an urn.

His urn was placed in a catacomb in an unknown place where only a few know where it is. His copper crown was placed next to his urn, leaving it forever lost to those who seek it.

Kristoff places the urn down in the secret location, the crown that House Stafyr had owned since Aegis placed next to it.
