Origins and Purpose

Stemming from the Imperial Regulators of old under the fifth Orenian Empire -- who so efficiently removed the maleficar from Oren -- the Arcane Regulators return to once more supervise and square the arcane on Imperial soil. These Regulators enact the disposal of any rogue sorcerer, ungodly beasts, the occult; and what other malevolent things that linger beyond the curtains of reality from the realm.

Identification

Every member of the Arcane Regulators is to be fitted with a seal to prove their authority and identity that should always be on their person when working their duty, abandoning the guise of uniforms as to act anonymous amongst magi conglomerates. Along with this, they are also equipped with various tools and trinkets with the purpose to make their hunt convenient. This seal is an odd, magically imbued symbol which denotes the Regulator’s identity and affiliation. Each shape of the symbol is different, but the inscriptions are generally the same - yet, those words are more than likely false; with hidden meaning behind the letters. A true regulator will be able to tell how to expose the meaning.

Authority

Abiding to the Overseer who act as headmen ensuring each Regulator exerts their duties with zeal, this inquisition works so in a two-step hierarchy beneath the Empire’s accord. The Regulators have say over magical matters, either through office - looking over magical licenses and examining the applicants, or out in the imperial realms, enacting their duty. A Regulator may also work as advisors to the Imperial sovereign in supernatural affairs, versed in the intricacies of magic; though this requires clearance from the Arcane Overseer.

They can call for the aid of the people to assist them on the field, along with being able to pull mages and guardsmen to aid them.

Judgement is dealt through the situation, requiring a Regulator to be considerate of the situation. For example, a mage who -- without a license -- used fire evocation to defend an imperial citizen will be given a small fine of a hundred minas; however, should this mage have had a license put forward and should said license not be denied - they will be given a warning. In addition, a Regulator will be able to revoke magical licenses from mages deemed unworthy of it, though this requires a report to be filed to the Arcane Overseer.

To impede the duty of an Arcane Regulator is considered an infringement on Imperial Law, and will be dealt with accordingly by the leisure of the Regulator.

Should an Arcane Regulator suspect a citizen for practicing any sort of invocations in secrecy without a license they may issue a warrant unto said citizen’s home and scrutinize it for evidence. Licensed citizens and nobles will require a report to be filed to the Arcane Overseer, and sometimes must be forwarded to higher administration, or the privy.

Recruitment

To be inducted into the Regulators one would need to be personally handpicked out by the Arcane Overseer himself rather than having the guild sought out by oneself, as volunteer or otherwise. However, there are times where an Arcane Regulator might call for the aid of volunteers to assist in matters.

"Seems like a worthy occupation." Seff would say as the Fi mage moves to 'The Hanging Keg' tavern in the capitol.

Expression blank, Eddard stares at the notice. "Looky there, outlander. Elf-Stock did something with itself."
