The Fall of Elvira

Recommended Posts

In the dead of night a shadow skulks by,

near the resting place where the cleric lie.

The world this shadowed being long forgot,

but a once friend she had forgotten not.

Keeping distance the being quiet stared,

in melancholy recalling moments shared.

With wordless mutters a sentiment is shown,

wingless flutters the utterance had flown.

"Death is still, the grave is cold,

Life its grip could no longer hold.

Unlike me you may rest from this fold.

May you stay in the next world."

With dismal vigilance until the first light shone,

by the break of dawn the being was gone.
