Yeah agreed, it's a shame that more humans don't take up magic. I myself play a human mage, roughly 40 now, I'm always down to teach more humans, as Phil said as well

In the end tho I'm still slobbin' away aren't I? But I guess it's better to slob on a knob you know than a knob you don't, if you catch my drift.

look man dont expect to get magic without a few sessions of RP unless VERY good RP happens. it takes time to get magic from a magic user as trust needs to be built and whatnot. Feel me? If it's actual ****-sucking-**** then that's disgusting, but if it's RP that revolves around gaining the magic user's trust, I think it's semi-acceptable

^^^This is a good point aswell.

Its a big commitment ICly and OOCly and teachers are supposed to self police the quality of RP which we have been having some issues with

I don't really get this. If your character wants magic then they seek out magically inclined people. What's making magic for humans difficult? Is it the life time?

Lifetime, elven monpoloy, requirement to completely reject human beliefs, cultural mores, religion etc. To practice a giant chunk of lotc magics you need to throw away everything your character believes. As a canonist you really can't approach a large spectrum of the  existing magics.

I wouldn't say cliques are necessarily bad and they should be expected. The one thing I had a problem a time ago was when I got a TA for a certain "cliquey" magic, I was then promptly told by a member of the MT that if I ever taught anyone, he would find a way to blacklist me from all magic. That is the kind of **** that needs to stop, it shouldn't be a problem for people to want to break the clique mentality and by gods they should not be punished for it.

(That Mt member is no longer so that's good.)

I do think that lotc times moves too fast. Specifically, twice as fast as it should, should be two lotc years per irl month. I'll give you that. Though, how exactly do you propose getting (very specific) humans magic while they continuously hate that magic? I suppose you could update canonist lore some to either ease magical beliefs or include specific magic for canonists.

Yo, any one ever consider the idea of writing a feat that lets humans be grey beard pointy hat wizards without dying in a week?

Jokes on you, noone actually reads human lore.

Humans STOP aging at 18 or so like elves. They then resume at 80. Their cap is 200 at max, though averaged at 150. That's some 3-4 years irl, plenty of time.

I think it would be really cool of the LT / ET to do an Angel of the Creator event. Where the pontiff and bunch of bishops are granted a revelation by the prophets that allow them to draw on his holy powers. Hell it could literally be xan rebranding himself to get more worshippers or something.

I know quite a few humans who know magic, there is also the fact that the Library of Dragur holds books on evocation for those of any race wishing to self-teach.

Well I think a player might need to write some kinda lore for this. Don't think anyone would have a problem with that. Just as long as it doesn't give canonists a proxy for every kind of magic. I mean this problem you might be having is entirely self-inflicted.

By humans I refer to mainstream feudal kingdom humans rather than short eared elves

More of an ability to smite the undead with holy water or something along those lines. Human dieties literally don't do anything beyond give us a casus belli for wars. Every other race gets some kind of niche magic with the exception of humanity.
