LEYDLUK

“This is where our journey together ends, my brother.” Said he, the crimson Wargoth and once-Rex of times bygone as he stepped from a weather beaten canoe onto the new Atlasian loam. They had rowed across vast expanses, trekked over many miles and narrowly escaped the collapsed land of Axios. Still, after all the hardship, Leydluk thought it necessary to part ways with his brother, his kinsman; an ork that he had considered a son in recent times. Hazurk was his name- a Wargoth and revered ork himself, one that he had taught and invested his all, moreso than his real son, even. Yet still, he felt it necessary to part ways. And so he did.

Two years on, Leydluk still ambled. Through the sprawling forests and plains and deserts and mountains of the deepest and furthest recesses of the Atlasian plain. In tow he bore a jar, one which cast out a glassy glare, and the swirling red wisps that danced therein. It was the source and motivator for his travel; it spoke to him and drove him forth. He did not know why, yet he obeyed regardless, going wherever it commanded.

Over rock, and through creeks, past wood and forest, struggling against the battering wind he came across a clearing- guided by the jars whispering. It never spoke coherently. . .but he could tell where it wanted him to be, and it sombered when he came upon it. All he could do hereafter was set up camp and wait- wait for when the voices picked up again, until there was a sign to keep moving, until there was an indication of something.

The fire crackled and spluttered gratefully as the once-Rex fed it with brush and twig. He sat back and sighed, pulling his burlap hood away from his mouth and eyes as the noxious smoke from the fire built up in thick plumes. The stillness from the jar bothered him. He looked upon it from its perch- upon a seat similar to his own -which it assumed much like a man or elf. It imposed a scowl. The fire crackled a little as wind hit it. Then, the jar spoke up. The fire grew and roared. The jar spoke up and rambled further. Snaps from the vast outlying forest caught his attention, and only grew louder as something enroached; the jaw spat and groaned and cackled and whispered until a figure came forth! Its jet shadow spilled free from the dark and greeted the light, and with a booming voice it spoke:

". . .Leydluk. . ."

It was Hazurk. . . He had arrived once more, “My goth, I have come. . .” Leydluk cut him off, “I know. . .I have heard: a lumberjack. . .no an army of lumberjacks. . .they have encroached upon the foul Dominion and they are ready to fell the tall trees. The birds have left and one has told me. The jar too.” He gave one last look to the jar and scooped it up, “I shall return- my pilgrimage is over.”

They exchanged a roman salute for old times sake and began their journey home.

The boat washed ashore near the Warnation of Krugmar's harsh beaches, strong waves battering against it's hull. "Let's get down to bussiness." Hazurk said, eyes settled on the walls of Krugmar.
