Curon's Mayoral Elections Presumably Rigged

Newspapers spread through Atlas would have the following on the front page:

The Enquirer Daily

Today, on the 11th of the Grand Harvest, the Mayoral Elections in Curon were held. This was supposed to be a moment of change for the principality, for the better at least. However the election may be making a turn for the worst as many presume it to be rigged by the nation's crown.

Of the four candidates and their deputees, Ser Veres Draskovitz and Miss Leila merged into one party after the voting had already been done. This was announced by her majesty princes Linette right before the outcome of the elections  was made public. Popular opinion appears to have favoured the party of candidate Stephanos de Palaiologos and his deputee Thomas de Hartcold, these two factors combined leads to many believing the elections were rigged by the crown to prevent Palaiologos and Hartcold with their often radical ideas gaining any form of power within the capital.

It is speculated and widely believed the elections were rigged simply by the votes of the two merging parties also being merged, an action thought of by Draskovitz and supported by the crown. Is this the shocking truth, we can't tell at this very moment. But perhaps time will tell.

"The Princess isn't the true leader... of course she rigged it, so she can have order in all the government." a Curonic peasant would say

"The elections weren't rigged. If they were, there'd be a lot more trouble. I think Leila beat Stephanos by a very thin margin." Auralia replied.

Linette gave a slight roll of the eyes, adding the newspaper to a pile of slanderous articles and conspiracies,

"Why is it grown men cry so easily when they do not get their way? Chancellor Sylvester made the decision; not I. Leila Rubens won by a single vote after the Stephanos and Thomas had plenty of ILLEGAL votes."

"What are you gonna do now cut Thomas's tongue for saying that you rigged the election?" a Curonic peasant would state

"Hrm, wouldn't say Undead as you seem to get along with the Undead since you love to conspire with them." he'd state

"My fellow brothers and sisters, we do not need to cause any more chaos, we don't know if the elections were rigged, we will find out soon enough and solve it civilized," Steph would say, after he read the newspaper, to his followers and voters.

Linette gave a shake of the head, as she watched over the chaos, "I will /personally/ count out the votes once more, in the square, should that be required."

"I'd just like to remind everyone that the position of mayor literally doesn't matter at all," says Constantine.
