 Information:

 

The League of Burghers is an institutionalized association, devoted to the promotion of the urban settlements and their inhabitants in the Kingdom of Renatus-Marna. The League advocates for additional mercantilist policies, and for the protection of the privileges and market monopolies of regional craftsmen and merchants in the Kingdom. The League strives to lower the burden of taxes upon the urban population, and likewise, lower the burden of internal tariffs between settlements of the realm. That, in favour of a protectionist policy that imposes higher tariffs, and trade barriers on foreign goods, and also imposes tolls on foreign trade caravans. 

The League is headed by a Master, that is elected by a popular vote for a ten-year term. The Master holds the powers to represent the League as a whole, and dictate its policies during his term. Below the Master is a council of three representatives appointed by the Master to assist him with the burdens of leadership and responsibility. Each member of council may represent the League upon the Master’s consent. In addition to League’s advocacy, the League also strives to consolidate a stronger Urban community, and bridge between different craftsmen and merchants for the prosperity of the realm. To further such a goal, the League will examine the option of organising tournaments and faires, to promote the Capital City and its marketplace.

 Becoming a Member:

 

Before one may apply for membership in the League, they must be able to answer to a set of requirements:

• The applicant must be of Human descent, a member of the Cannonist faith, and a citizen of the Kingdom of Renatus.

• The applicant must be at least of sixteen years of age.

• The applicant must have a clear criminal record. Outlaws and traitors will not be tolerated.

• It is also recommended that the applicant already resides in one of the urban cities of the Realm, especially in the Capital City.
