Hither and Thither: Chronicles of Ghorza

Recommended Posts

"Hearth and home,

O', watch me roam.

Bloom and blossom,

sky and loam;

The stars, and seas,

and in-between,

I pass it all,

this wayward dream."

Music.

Spoiler

By some odd luck, you may come across a book detailing the travels of Ruu'Yar, and her horizon walk. It is written in prose, and explains her journey.

"I am Ruu, and you are you.

And maybe you're a wanderer, too.

During day and night, you'd feel just right,

With dreams of travel or eternal flight.

This is my gift, this book, my tome;

The story writ as I left all home,

and set out to fulfill my quest,

to wander further than all the rest.

Born under Ghorza, Agongraz,

The rising sun beyond my grasp,

I seek out that rising lion,

I march to catch the flame horizon.

I carry little on this path,

Naught but book, and a lonely staff.

By hand I will gather both rock and wood,

accepting fortune, both bad and good.

My bag is empty of all coinage,

I've have another test on this voyage.

Ask for a mina of a hundred and one,

and listen to their story until they are done.

On my path back, with coins so bright,

One by one I will make my bag light,

and tell one hundred stories while I returned

and my walk will be adjourned."

This is everything Ruu has at the start of her adventure. The rules are pretty simple.

1) Nothing may be used that isn't taken out of a freebuild part of the server. No resource island.

2) No soulstoning!

3) The journey starts at 0 minas. Ruu must ask for a singular mina and a story until she has 101 minas.

4) Once she's at 101, she has to give them all away, one by one, along with a tale of her own. The journey ends at 0 minas, too!

5) No returning to anywhere she's spent an OOC day in, under any circumstances.

That's it!

I'll be updating this thread with screenshots of the RP I get, little poems, and anything else cool that happens. The goal here is for Ruu to become a chosen of Ghorza.

An anonymous human, faithful to Ghorza ( or, his culture's identity for the spirit; Widfarend ) as his patron, chances upon the book and recounts with a hint of wistful meloncholy they days of his youth dedicated to a similar trial, before he got married and could no longer follow it.

Not that he regrets getting married. A cold sweat runs down his face as he feels his wife reading his thoughts.

"U-Uh-- Just hopin' she comes our way, that's all, dear."

Later that night, he sends a sacrifice of coin and grain to Widfarend, the wanderer's friend, down the river. Praise be.
