The Night

A breeze, a whisper upon the hills, a passing thought, a distant wish.

 

A billowing figure of Crimson hues, a frozen forest, a silent landscape.

 

While many-a slept, laughed, drank and huddled around their fireplaces, the Crimson Woman wandered through the forests, leaving naught a trail to follow her with, the birds fell silent and the only sound was of the brisk night air. She began to sing, singing a lullaby, a quiet and soft tone carried by it, a lullaby of the Night.

 

“Hush now, little one, the Night has come and its terrors await, waiting beneath, for the Dark One has come, he watches and waits, seeking our faith and our blood. The Birds have fell silent this Night, awaiting the Dark, it comes and goes, but has come to stay. Hush now, little one, do not fear the Night, the Dark has come to cleanse, hush now, little one. He has come.”

 

The Woman fell silent, staring upon the clouds as the moon peeked through, turning upon her bare feet and meandering towards the ruins before Her, descending into them,

 

The Dark has come to stay.

(( Going to reply in two characters since I have two of them and they have differing opinions.

 

Ashlynn was a bit more and more horrified as she read the poem-like lullaby thing. She quickly stopped reading it about two sentences in. "That's enough for one day, I think."

 

Jesabelle enjoyed the dark writing a bit more than Ashlynn, but still left a sort of chill down her spine. She giggled and smiled as she read it, like a child. "Well, tha' wasn' t'bad. A li''le creepeh, go' t'admi', bu' eh's alrigh'."

Robyn listen while near the red witch a partly dull but happy look to her as she'd nod her head." Relaxing enough it makes me want go lay before the fire place with something to snack upon." she'd nod her head while going lick her lips after stating such quietly out loud.

A pale high elf, caked in sweat and dirt, sat in silence as she contemplated the lullaby. A few months ago it would have filled her with hope and pride. But now... She just felt a sense of unease in her stomach.
