20k x 20k Map for Server

I haven't been on this site or played on this server in years but I remember you guys like having big maps. My personal server isn't very popular and I'm going to college so its eventually going to go down, but this is the map I made for that server and I was wondering if LOTC would like to use it when it comes down to getting a new map.

If whoever is responsible for new map transitions happens to see this post PM me if you're interested. I will not be giving this map to just anyone only this server IF it wants it. Mainly because this map is very sentimental and I spent over two years working on it. It still has some blemishes to touch up on but I have the World Painter file.

If the server wants to use this map I give it freely. I would greatly appreciate it if I could be filled in on the main story on the server as an optional payment. I remember when I played I could never really fit into a group and didn't understand the events going on. Just mainly walked around a beautiful world.

If you guys want to explore it I can PM you my server IP and let u fly around. For anyone else reading this. My intent of this post is purely out of benefit of LoTc not my server. So I only will pming the ip to mods of LoTc. Not trying to advertise here.

the current map is 8x5k and people still find it too big and complain about rp being too decentralised, i doubt getting a 20k x 20k map would do that any good lol

There's lots of problems with maps that are of such size espeicially for and RP server like LOTC.

We could maybe downsize the map then? Or just use small portions of it here and there as a base to work off of.

thing is theres probably already a map planned for 7.0, it wouldnt make sense lore wise to scrap it altogether.

The problem with that is if you look, that desert is probably the entire length of atlas. And the areas themselves are so large it's basically impossible to just section stuff off to a proper size

I will admit part of my server's downfall was due to the map's size. I would hate to see such ambitious work of mine to wither away on a hard drive.

Perhaps the server could focus all of its main cities in a smaller region of the map while leaving the rest barren for exploration/settlement. Kind of like a new world discovery setting.

If the map would be cut down I would suggest this region. It is the most detailed area and has as wide diversity of biomes. A large part of the shore line was straight up pixel art. I'm not kidding.

I love the map, it looks reaaally beautiful. I think it could definitely work if we wanted it to.

20 by 20k though.. people already think rp is decentralised in atlas and atlas is like a 10th of this map there is no way to cut the map and make it look good with the way it is designed, nobody likes random invisible walls which is why we almost always had water around.

You know it wouldn't take me too long to cut a piece out and islandize it. The time consuming part of map making is the biome blending and figuring out the continent shape.

I do love the looks of the map. It has a lot of biomes and different terrain, and god damn- does it look beautiful. But like other people were saying, it would be too big and RP would be spread out. Either way, a great map.

Thats because of freebuild. No freebuild and there will be rp hubs.
