An Uncommon Taste

 

Oliver once again found himself sitting underneath his small burrow. Eating at his makeshift table. Before him, on his plate, would be a strange new meat he had never tried before. Despite this, Oliver was almost excited to see the meat before him. He knew that it was Ghorros, the remnants of a corrupted soul stirring within him. Very carefully, Oliver cut into it, brought it up to his mouth and took a bite. It was.. strange to say the least. Tasting like beef, yet combined with the spices and honey ale glazing he had added in, it was almost sweet. Oliver continued his process, digging into his dinner with a happy sensation. Ghorros was happy to taste flesh once again, even if it wasn’t technically him eating it. He had influenced many of Oliver’s actions today. Planting ideas in his head. And finally, he accepted one. Oliver looked down at his now empty plate. He found himself longing for more of the fresh meat after being so deprived of it. He knew that it might be one of the few chances he’d get in life. He smiled as he turned to the fireplace. Over it, was what resembled a Goblin. Properly gutted and cooked.

“Better as a dish, than a thief.” He said with a smile as he got up and cut himself yet another large chunk of flesh from the thing’s sides. “A fine dinner this is. I wonder what Goblin ribs are like.” He said as he took a swig of his Satyr rum. “I wonder what others would think of it…” he schemed in his head. And, once more, Ghorros smiled and laughed as Oliver began his descent into madness. And eventually, made way for him.
