I, Lily Mournstone the true and only Matriarch of the House of Mournstone, hereby declare that from this day forth Valencia Mournstone is stripped of both her title of the Matriarch of the House as well as her claim to the Mournstone bloodline. The reasoning to such a declaration is as follows:

- Conducting herself with the grace of a common ***** whilst being not only married but also of imperial nobility thus disrespecting both the empire and GOD.

- Pursuing needless power during times of duress within the family, putting the needs of her own selfish desires above her family values.

- Disrespecting her own father, Gaius Mournstone, by disowning his wife in an attempt to further displace the family for further gain and ultimately ruining the woman’s ability to effectively raise her children, and tend to her husband’s needs as GOD intended.

- Disrespecting through the tactic of idle threats against a multitude of individuals, one of which being the liege lord of the house Demetrius var Ruthern, alongside others of nobility included.

- Breaking the Mournstone tradition of partaking within the Trial of Fire by simply refusing to participate.

The sins of the mother are not the sins of the children, such as GOD has taught me in my years and I have sympathy for her children, however for the betterment of the house, certain measures must be put forth. Valencia’s sons, those of legitimate birth whilst in the confines of marriage, may continue to bear the name of Mournstone provided that they pass their Trials of Fire by their twenty-fifth nameday. Valencia’s daughters, however, may not bear the name of Mournstone nor Greythorn, regardless of legitimacy.

It is time we return to the old ways, the right ways.

Signed,

Her Ladyship, Lily Mournstone, Matriarch of the House of Mournstone

“What in tarnation!”

Yells a man who was sat so far in his office he hadn’t the slightest idea what was going on, other than he didn’t know what was written here.

Thomas squinted at the writing, a brief frown falling over her slips. He pursed his lips before setting the paper down and moving on.

Ethel Mournstone sits with a wide grin in her home as she folds her copy of the little letter in her hands. “This is interesting indeed. . . Though I can’t say I really care all that much. Good job Lily.”
