The times are rife with cold and suffering. The Vaeyl Order threatens to drive the descendents from Atlas. His Majesty Wilhelm the King of Curonia in his advanced age finds it necessary to assign an heir and regent to lead the Curonians through these dark times.

 

Thus, by royal decree, His Highness Jarrack Devereux is recognized as the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Curonia, the sole heir to all of the wealth, titles, lands, contracts, and subjects of House Devereux. As the heir to House Devereux, the Crown Prince shall hold the honorific title of Prince of Evreux. His Highness Jarrack shall also immediately assume the title of Prince-Regent of Curonia, acting with the voice and authority of the King in all matters administrative, legal and diplomatic.

 

His Majesty King Wilhelm retains the privilege to wear the royal crown of Curonia, and to overrule the regent as necessary. However, the people and subjects of Curonia are not to appeal to the authority of the King, and he will interfere in the affairs of state only as he deems necessary. The King also withholds the singular authority to wage war and settle alliances in the name of Curonia.

Analiese peers over Anabel’s shoulder as the princess reads to her the news, a look of perplexity over her face. “I thought Jarrack was that one boy  who didn’t give you a cookie when you were little... How far he’s come!”

Anabel Devereux reads the declaration aloud, Analiese by her side as she looked on over her shoulder. Ana scoffs in response to the message, turning her nose up slightly in distaste “I do not like this. I do not like this at all” She states, placing the paper down as she moved off to do something else.
