A Response to Thexan Ithelanen

written on the 21st of Malin’s Welcome, 1714

The recent failures of the EU makes your pathetic attempt to regain some form of global relevance hard to take seriously, but since you so grievously insult my family and countrymen I have not choice but to respond. You freely slings curses at my kin from the safety of your castle walls, but not once have I seen you sally out to engage us, or anyone else for that matter, in combat. Do you, Thexan Ithelanen, seek single combat because your coalition has so poorly-mismanaged its resources that it cannot hope to face us in the field of battle? Or is it simply a last-ditch bid to regain some form of relevancy?

Whatever your true intentions may be- it is of no matter to me. If you are too cowardly to pit you and your allies’ army on the field of battle against mine and my allies’, then I will oblige your request for single combat. Let me know of a time, date, and location, so that I may free your head from your shoulders and end the senseless bleating that I’ve had the misfortune to endure. Just know that no matter the outcome, my people will prevail, for wars are fought through battles, which you have seemed to avoid, not duels.

I, Kaius Visaj, accept your challenge.

No resurrections this time.

Thexan received the notice, walking amidst his home glades in solemn retreat. Despite the aggressive exchange, there was a melancholy to his gait. Dancing with death demanded a certain respect.

His eyes wandered to the blade rested along the roots. “Let us talk with this ‘Kaius’, then.”

Hannibal cheered, despite being proven wrong. He sincerely hoped both would bleed out at the same time during their duel.

The former Matriarch and eldest daughter of Dimaethor sneers at the missive, wiping a tear from her eye from amusement. "Kaius you fight the wrong battle my friend, take it from someone who served as our maheral's sword. You fight a losing battle. If Dimaethor wishes for a battle won. Perhaps it's time he wields his own steel. Go back to chasing monsters dear."
