WRIT OF RENOUNCEMENT, 19th of the Amber Cold, 1726

The story of the House of Keint is an old one. The origins of my family are found two hundred years ago in the Isles of Axios, when our House was given a Barony in the Kingdom of Courland, under the House of Merentel. Then, many tragic events happened in our history, such as the Battle of Blackden, in which we were defeated. However, with the ascension of Godfrey II of the House of Cascadia to the Imperial Throne we were able to become a respected House under the County of Vintas. A strong Empire now arises in the lands of humanity, and it’s our time to renounce to unnecessary titles or claims that are not needed for the growth of our beloved Empire.

To His Imperial Majesty, Alexander II of the House of Joannes, I hereby give back to the Imperial Crown the title of Baron of Kaath that was given to me by the Crown of Renatus-Marna and wish you good luck in your new reign.

To the Mayor of Helena, I hereby give all the properties that I own in the city of Helena to the House of Merentel so my liege lord can take care of them.

To the Grand Knight, I hereby ask you to recognize Constantine de Savin as a Knight Errant. He has served faithfully for years as my squire and is more than ready to eventually become a Knight of the Realm.

To my liege lord, I have only words of gratitude for all the kindness the House of Merentel has shown to mine during the last two centuries.

To my family, House of Keint, I think that we’ve found our place in the Duchy of Vintas, where we can have a good life. Also, I want to personally thank all the people that during history a lot of time have been helping our House and its people.

It’s time for me to continue serving our Realm as a standard citizen, as most of its people do, and take my rightful place amongst the legends of the past...

His Excellency, Nicholas of the House of Keint, Patriarch of the House of Keint

“Farewell Nicky, I wish you all the best.” Elissa Merentel mourned, clearly on the verge of tears at her dear brother’s departure.
