The King's Road

*Several pieces of paper were hung along roadmarks on the king's road*

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

It is bad enough that us civilized men find their affairs hindered by these rude roadworks. People try to fix what isn't broken, and it's a nuisance nuisance for us all.

However, the true crime is done upon the landscape. Perfectly winding, steeping and dropping roads are being replaced by flat, straight slabs of stone that leave landscapes unsightly for miles. The sand rises up from being stirred and debauches my well-washed white wearings.

I call upon these constructors to cease their frustrating flattening and straightening of these roads. It leaves your travelers titilated. If they must rebuild, they should turn and bend their routes in harmony with the landscape, rather than plunging through it like juggernauts.

((TLDR: Please, whoever's recreating the King's road, stop making them flat and straight cause it's horrible. This guide shows my basic wish: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/14588-pathmaking-with-native/ . Thank you on behalf of all the travelers now and in the future.))

I agree. It pains me that they are redoing Kramoroe, it was such a nice road and town with the underpasses and overpasses.. now it is completely flat.

((I hope this will be better on the new continent. Please add a rule against making straight roads, and flattening enormous areas (Like Alras). It makes the land boring and monotonous. It may be a bit more work to build with the landscape, but it makes a more beautiful and exciting world))

+1 Definitely.

The new kings road is ungainly and completely ugly.

Only one nation ever built roads that cut through the landscape rather than around it, and it says a lot about them - the Romans.

They were a arrogant civilization, so it's pretty fitting that their roads were built like that.

But Oren isn't like that. The roads shouldn't cut through the landscape like a knife through butter. It doesn't make sense, in all honesty. And it look ugly.

Keep King's Road the old way - the best way!

The roads look terrible now. The main road in karamoroe is ugly, and I liked it the old way better. Why would any one fix roads that looked good and srill functioned?

If you get bored, so be it. I would gladly increase your excitement level by pressing my flame bringer to your throat. And I will do it for free...

(( I agree with this- I find it tedious and not very fun... ))

If you can set down a pebble and go afk for more than a couple seconds, it's probably a poor road.

A pebble? I hold down my keyboard with my nose after i fall asleep due to the extremely boring road.

Also, what's up with Kramoroe? I used to love it... now it looks like a beehive without the honey(the best part) :(

Ah, you may find comfort in knowing you're not alone in your opposition towards the new town look. I've heard many a visitor berate these level lanes and depressed desert, and to be honest, I'm not too keen on them myself.

I have business with the mayor anyway, so I may as well courteously convey complaints of the travelers recent. I don't know what this will achieve, but what mayor DOESN'T want his town to be a pleasure to visit?

I liked the way the road twisted through the land as well. Now it just feels like a boring highway. (And no bushes for bandits to hide behind!)

The king's road we knew and loved is now just a memory, I miss all the small cottages and fields I saw everywhere that are now gone so the king could straighten out a road that doesn't need to be straight.

There is no need to fix something that was not broken. Roads turn and go over and around the landscape, not through it.
