Lore Summary

 

Animati crafting is the nomagical means of crafting of Automatons, Prosthetics, and Machine Spirits, using dead or inorganic material and a mix of alchemy. Automatons are the robotic creations of Animati Crafters, which can take on various shapes and sizes, depending on the task they were built to perform. Animati Prosthetics function like any other method of limb replacement, with the drawback that damage repair is needed to be done by an Animati crafter, and without one, death can become quickly inevitable. Finally, we have Machine Spirits, which are robotic husks meant to house the soul of a selected person. Should this person die, they will live on within this robotic body, and in order to continue prospering, more and more robotic husks must be created, as without more husks, death results in a PK.

The Laboratory

In order for an animati crafter to use Animati Crafting, one needs a proper work area with proper materials. What this work area consists of is entirely up to the crafter, however, there are a few requirements that must be met. The laboratory must contain the following:

 

 

  • A forge capable of working and casting metal to the desired shapes of the crafter’s project

  • A blast furnace capable of melting glass and metal

  • A basic alchemy lab, supplied with beakers, measuring instruments, etc.

  • Tools required to work with and shape heated metal and glass

  • Miscellaneous tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, magnifying glasses) used to place the casted metal and glass together in order to create the crafter’s desired project.

  • Materials, such as glass, metal, clay, leather, etc.

  • Redstone

  • Gems

  • Alchemical Fluid

 

 

 

Crafting

For the purpose of this guide, crafting is divided up into four categories: small crafts, medium crafts, humanoid+ crafts, and machine spirits.

 

Note: Prosthetics must have a lore signed in game item to represent them. Proper screenshots of the rp involved in their creation must be given to LT for them to sign of for it.

 

Crafting: Small

Example crafts: small prosthetics such as eyes, hearing and vocal replacements (also known as attachments), or hands; and small automatons, such as messenger birds or anything that can be easily carried in one average sized human hand.

Progression

 

Progressing through tiers requires the Animati Crafter to meet skill based requirements that are mechanically measured by crafts made. Once a certain amount of crafts have been made, their tier is raised.

 

Beginner: five humanoid crafts, four medium crafts, seven small crafts. 5 weeks minimum time.

 

Journeyman: seven humanoid crafts, six medium crafts, ten small crafts, 7 weeks minimum time.

  • To establish a chain of command involving other people, add their blood as well. The craft shall listen to orders in order of importance of whose blood was added first.

 

 

Emote Guide

Note, due to how different each craft will be from the next, this guide is forced to be extremely loose in nature. I did my best to describe the absolute necessities, and each emote count should be treated as a minimal requirement, not set. That is, if you were to add additional steps in order to add more parts or add more flair to the creation of your craft, you are free to do so.

 

 

Crafting

 

Crafting: Small (4 emotes)

Beginner

Day 1:

  • On the first day, the beginner crafter collects and gathers the needed materials for their project. How this is done is up to the player entirely.

 

Day  2:

  • On the second day, the beginner crafter forges the collected materials and creates all relevant solutions.

 

Day 3: 

  • On the third day, the beginner crafter pieces their craft together, and attaches any alchemical attachments.

  • Jonathan removes the tiny metallic pieces from their casts, and he proceeds to piece the skeleton and its plating together, shaping it into a bird. He connects the proper sensory attachments at this time.

  • Jonathan proceeds to weave tiny, leather tubing through the now complete body, mimicking the layout of blood vessels.

  • Jonathan then places the dormant heart into a compartment within the chest of the bird, then connects the vessels to the heart.

  • Jonathan pours the Life Blood into the heart, allowing it to flow into the surrounding vessels. He then closes the heart’s hatch, and he inserts a small key into the back of the creature. After turning it clockwise, the bird’s eyes begin to glow a blue hue, and it proceeds to flap its wings.

  • On the sixth day, the beginner crafter pieces their craft together, and attaches any alchemical attachments.

  • Jonathan attaches the vessels of the mechanism to the blood vessels of the ‘ker who is missing her leg. He then attaches the leg to her.

  • Jonathan pours the lifeblood into the heart, allowing it to flow through the nearby vessels.

  •  

    Jonathan uses a key to start the heart, and the leg comes to life.

  • On day 5, the crafter creates the regents that will act as an identifier to the soul.

 

Day 6:

  • On day 6, the crafter creates all relevant attachments.

 

Day 7-13

  • For the next seven days, the crafter will work on creating the frame to the exact measurements of the body that the Machine Spirit will be used for.

 

Day 14

  • On the fourteenth day, the crafter attaches all pieces to the Machine Spirit’s frame.

Attachments

Attachments are considered small crafts. They are divided into four primary senses: Intelligence, Sight, Sound, and Olfactory.

 

Attachments (4 emotes)

Beginner

Day 1:

  • On the first day, the beginner crafter collects and gathers the needed materials for their attachment. How this is done is up to the player entirely.

 

Day  2:

  • On the second day, the beginner crafter forges the collected materials and creates all relevant solutions.

 

Day 3: 

  • On the third day, the beginner crafter pieces their craft together, and soaks and injects the attachment with the relevant solution.

  • Jonathan removes the tiny metallic pieces from their casts, and he proceeds to piece the skeleton and its plating together, shaping it into whatever shape the attachment will take.

  • Jonathan proceeds to weave tiny, leather tubing through the now attachment, mimicking the layout of blood vessels.

  • Jonathan then places the attachment into the corresponding solution, either Intelligence, Sight, Sound, or Olfactory.

  • Jonathan removes the attachment from its vat of solution after a few hours. Half of the remaining solution is then injected into the attachment’s vessels. It is now ready to be attached.

 

 

Repairs

In order for a craft to continue to function properly, maintenance may be required in order to repair any damages sustained to the craft. This can only be done by an Animati Crafter. Should a vessel rupture, it will continue to leak its life fluid until the Animatii, or the host of a prosthetic limb, ceases to function, or bleeds out. The more vessels broken, the faster this bleedout process occurs. Should only one vessel be broken, the leak that occurs will only exist in mere droplets, giving the animatii or host three OOC days to receive repairs. Attempts to stop any leaks that are done by anyone else other than a Crafter will result in further damage.

  • Jonathan approaches the wounded creation, and he uses his key to turn the creation off. Lifeblood ceases to flow, causing the leakage to slow, but not stop.

  • Jonathan removes any bent or broken plating of the creation.

  • Jonathan takes the broken vessel(s) and proceeds to detach it (them).

  • Jonathan tosses away the broken vessel(s), and from his tool bag, he procures new the replacement(s).

  • Jonathan reattaches the new vessel(s), securing it (them) in place.

  • Jonathan procures new plating for the broken creation.

  • Jonathan reattaches the new plating.

  • Jonathan uses his key to restart the heart of the creation, and it sparks back to life.

 

 

Overclocking

An overclock would be comparable to someone having an adrenaline rush, an Animati that overclocks will be able to push past their limits, and while unable to become ignorant to any form of damage, they can work faster, and stronger. By overclocking, one’s gearheart churns irregularly and swiftly, and due to the nature of clockwork things, such can cause internal damage, be it through gears breaking off, or leakage. This implies that if one decides to keep an Overclock stage, they will surely die given enough time. However, if one were to augment themselves by a small amount, and do it for a short amount of time, they would suffer weakness, this depending on what kind of Overclock.

 

 

Minor (3 emotes)

  • The Animatii begins to charge forwards, and its heart begins to churn swiftly and irregularly. As his speed increases, his strength becomes boosted as well. His speed increases by 25%. (The animatii can clear a distance of 12 blocks after this emote, rather than 10. If it were to attack, the blow would match that of the next race size over. I.E., a human sized animatii would punch as strong as a dark elf, a dark elf would punch as strong as a basic orc, an orc would punch the strength of an olog. Olog is always the cap.)

  • The overclock continues in this emote.

  • The Animatii’s heart slows, and the overclock ends. For the next two ooc hours, the Animatii will be weak and unable to perform athletic tasks.

 

 

Major (2 emotes)

  • The Animatii begins to charge forwards, and its heart begins to churn wildly so. Vessels burst, plating dents, and his strength and speed is boosted by 50%. (The animatii can clear a mechanical distance of 15 blocks after this emote, rather than 10. If it were to attack, the blow would match that of the next two race sizes over. I.E., a human sized animatii would punch as strong as an orc, a dark elf would punch with the strength of an olog. Olog is always the cap.)

  • The Animatii’s heart slows, and the overclock ends. For the next four ooc hours, the Animatii will be unable to function at all.
