The Barclay Motion

 

While my current term as an Alderman is arching towards a closure, I, Ser Osvald Anton Barclay, Kapitan Knight of the Golden Hussars shall not stand idle while the representative rights of the people of Hanseti-Ruska can be further developed! Therefore, I am proud to announce my intentions for rerunning.

 

Laughable Claims

 

First, I'd like to adress the campaign of an individual known as Stefan Vyronov. It seems that the honourable candidate forgets the principles of a gentleman's election, leaving way for his profoundly incorrect propaganda, designed to make his weak argument to look stronger in the hopes of deceiving the electorate, for the man has both an unrealistic vision for bills in the Duma, while also establishing himself to be a weak writer. Mister Stefan's criticism initially adresses a lack of bills from the Duma legislators. However, this is simply untrue, and the blabberer, who never shows himself in the Reza square, who never interacts with the people of Haense, who never ever set eyes on my work within the Duma spits abhorrent balderdash and claims to be more representative of the people. I would ask this individual one question. During this term, which bill had the most relevant long term impact for the representation of the people? It was the Representation of the People Act. During the Voyage to Athera, the Duma was put on a de-jure standstill, in which legislative procedures were halted. Even Henrik Vanir recognises this fact, while the invisible Vyronov can comment on a lack of legislative procedure. Egregious folly! As Alderman, I have delivered every single promise that I have made. Representation of the commoners have been doubled, with thrice as many commoners running for my Tribune seat. A working relationship with the Centralist benches have emerged under my leadership, in which we have made away with the continuous bickering. I have been working with my associate, Lady Maer Aleksandra for the prosperity of the people, while all you want to do is build a tomb, and another statue? How is that for the betterment of the common people? Are you even a real feudalist, or are you working to get the votes of the Royals, by simply erecting statues of them? Such individuals are beyond supporting intentions such as this, for they have the nation's interest at heart.

 

The Motion

 

With unrealistic claims and uninspired legislative measures done by the honourable candidate dismissed, I shall focus on my promises for the public of Hanseti Ruska. My aim, as a member of the Feudalist bench has been to cooperate closely with my peers from the start. Considering this agenda, I offer both the people, and the government close cooperation, with a no-nonesense approach. I shall work with the prime legislators, being the House of Baruch and Gant in the Feudalist bench to achieve a higher degree of representation and cultural preservation, while also working with names such as Regent Otto Sigmar and Aleksandra in the Centralist bench to develop infastructure and public works. Under Ser Osvald's Aldermanship, there will be ZERO TOLERANCE on party expediency.

 

Military Agenda

 

The Brotherhood is safe under Barclay! I believe that I am one of the chief candidates who would be remotely representative of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, which makes u onearly %50 of Reza's population. Everyone seems to disregard the men that watch guard under the palisade, the rain and mud. I have personally never even seen Stefan, and I have attended every single Brotherhood rally for the past ten years. I am an oathed member of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, and the Kapitan Knight of the Hussars, whic makes me more than adequate to represent the soldiers of our public, along with the Honourable Tribunal candidate Wilhelm, which I shall work closely with, if elected. I do not even need to mention my close ties to the Lord Marshal, Erwin Barclay, which means that military representation will happen under my watch! I will address the issue of the Brotherhood Barracks along with the elected Maer. By Gott, it was I who suggested a training area for the Brotherhood to the incumbent Maer in the first place!

 

Religious values

 

When I look at the campaigns of the other candidates, I do not see the mention of defending Canonist values in legislation at all, which sets a worrying precedent for the future generations, which might unravel themselves in the dangers of sin. As an individual, before my political career, I have had a religious education in Reinmar, growing up, with the tenets and dogma of Canonism taking a firm seat on my personality, which is why I have been deemed suitable for the role of Knight in the first place. During my term as Alderman, I have been in contact with many members of the clergy, such as Father Harald Vuiller, my own father, Anton Barclay, who is an acolyte, and Monsigneur Krisztián Mátyás Károly, with the latter expressing his concern for the youth of Hanseti-Ruska, being influenced by lesser powers. With me as an Alderman, I will put a firm stop to the advancing rhetoric in which religious agenda finda itself shirked. And think not these are just buzz words, for let me give an example of my upcoming bill; Intergrate the religious classes of Krisztián Mátyás Károly into the St. Charles College curriculum. Religious developments are on the way!

 

Conclusion

 

I have a track record of defending the representation rights of the common people, which shall be assuredly continued if I am re-elected. I will emphasise my no-nonesense approach, working with all benches to improve the living conditions of the common man. Vote Ser Osvald for Alderman!

You say my claims are laughable and put words into my mouth by saying that ‘Stefan said Duma as a whole doesn’t pass enough bills’ when in reality I said you, Osvald, doesn’t pass enough bills. You say I have no military values because I’m not in the military when I for one do as you don’t have to BE in the military to have those values. All you’ve said within your ‘For Alderman’ speech you’ve yet to show any sort of bills you wish to put forth in Duma. The only accomplishment you have and have mentioned is the bill you passed in 1758 of last year. I for one can speak for the other candidates myself by saying we do have our values for the Canonist Faith as well as the military. 

 

Osvald, you say my bills or ideas are unrealistic when they are in actual fact realistic in Duma. I’ve read bills from the past that were for underground railroads, roads, and anything to do with terrain and the city that had passed within Duma. As I’ve mentioned before in my previous reply to you that I did see you in the previous Duma session to which all I saw was you doing nothing while Lord Sigmar Baruch and Mister Siegmund Corbish argued for the entire Duma session especially about newspapers. Now you mention that I’m not in the city when I am in fact in the city and have been living there my entire life.

“No, your false claims are something I do have an answer for which I am waiting for the debates to answer. Also, I hope that you do realize this is an election and we both are fighting to win this. This election isn’t about what party someone is in as this election is like every other election which is about bringing change every that each candidate wants to bring to the floor or to the city. So, stop speaking about what party someone is in and focus on what is best for Haense.
