Talas Silversteed was a brave, young man. Though he had many flaws, he was one who was loved by the many people who came in and out of his life. He was close with his siblings, Florence and Adonis Silversteed, loving the pair like he had no one else. He would’ve done anything to have them with him in his old age. Talas was close with his parents before his passing. He looked up to his father, the great Beyarin Silversteed, and was inspired by his kind caring mother, Adelina Silversteed who passed long before him. Most importantly, he had his wife Elise Silversteed. Elise inspired Talas in every passing moment, with every kind action and gentle praise she offered. He was thankful to have been able to settle down with her.

Talas believed in peace. He believes in loving all species, and harmony between everyone. This was something that often led to his downfall in early childhood due to his lack of understanding on how the world works, but nonetheless he wanted to believe that all people could be redeemed.

Talas had been ill the past couple of saint’s months which would explain his absence in the life of his children and his wife. He was lucky to pass peacefully in his sleep at the side of his beloved Elise Silversteed. He’ll wait for her in the gardens until they can be reunited once again.

The following is a letter that Talas held dear to him, one found in a book of letters that Adelina Silversteed wrote to her family before her passing. It was his most prized possession.

To my healer, my light, Talas.

Talas, a ray of sun that has blessed this house. I have always admired your excellence, your succession in a wonderful occupation. You continue to shine brightly on me, lighting my path with such knowledge I thought I already knew. From your young age I knew you were such a lovely boy, the determination, the wisdom. Please maintain that wisdom, you will need it. Please continue to heal people- although herbs may not heal the effects after I have passed, you have many other healing properties. You can mend people’s hearts together with words, with your own heart. Your light will guide you, guide others, it will only bring the family closer. When I am gone it should only further your light, let you glow on with an unwavering beaming ray. Remain as beautiful and brave as the fiery sun, be the sun to others, pass on the light you gave me to the rest of the family, to your loved ones, to Florence-Nicole. Keep that light shining on me as well, for I was the flower and you breathed life into me.

Your clinical patient, your flower that was

grown under your light, your mother,

Adelina Silversteed.

Thank you to the Hanging Man for his noble sacrifices.

Rest in Peace, Talas Silversteed.

[OOC]

There are so many people that I would love to thank for helping pass my time on Lord of the Craft. Talas was the first character I ever roleplayed, and I believe it is time for me to finally let him go. I want to thank all of the people who made this time as special as it was, and who continue to inspire me to play!

Shmeepicus - Thank you for introducing me to LOTC. Though my time here has not been perfect I am extremely thankful to you for introducing me to all of my lovely friends. Being able to play your son as my first character was a lot of fun, and I look forward to what the future holds.

Clonky - Thank you for being the most amazing and supportive friend a person could ask for - both to Talas and I. You were the first person I met on this server and roleplaying with you has (and will continue to be) an absolute pleasure. You are such a kind, bubbly person and I hope that never changes.

Epistile - Thank you for all the late night calls, the exciting and dramatic roleplay, the movies, music and so much more Ep. You’re such a nerd and when I’m not constantly harassing you I’m thankful that I can consider you a friend.

Lena - My partner in crime, roleplaying with you on Talas was an absolute delight. I spent almost all of Talas’ childhood getting into trouble with you. You helped teach me the basics of this server and I am so thankful to have been able to return the favour and watch your progress on the Community Team. Keep being amazing.

Dimitri - You not only played Talas’ best friend, but also just happened to play his tormentor at the same time. Your roleplay style is fantastic and you are such an absolute joy to be around. Keep SIMPing, kid.

Lalosia - Elise and Talas as children were my absolute favourite thing. Writing in journals, reading and just spending time together was a lot of fun. Thank you for taking Talas back and giving him a second chance, and thank you for giving me a second chance as well - even if I wasn’t around as much as I’d liked to be. You’ve never held my lack of availability against me, and I really appreciate that. I hope we can continue to be friends and roleplay more.

Language - You were Talas’ mentor, and his home away from home. You inspired me a lot when I was first roleplaying in Curon (and despite my lack of knowledge now) taught me everything I needed to know about being a doctor. Thank you for all your help.

And thank you to every single individual who ever interacted with Talas. Your contributions mean the world to me.

Beyarin Silversteed looks upon the notice he had been delivered with sad eyes, sitting in front of a hearth in some empty tavern, on some wayward road. He looks up to the sky and hopes his time comes soon, so that he may be reunited with his children and wife. The man, a shell of who he once used to be, holds the notice close to his heart before tossing it into the amber flames that lick the brick and provide him with the only warmth and light he feels now in his world that grows darker and colder by the day.

Adelina Silversteed, the beloved mother of her dearest and most eccentric child, Talas Silversteed would extend her arms out to her little boy, now grown into a man. Now finally united together once further in a whole different world... Adelina accepted her son with open arms, joy filling her countenance. The day had come once again. Adelina’s healer... the person to evolve Adelina prior to her death. It was truly an occasion to be celebrated in their afterlife.

Elise looked down to her lifeless husband’s body as he laid peacefully in their bed, tucked inside the deep crimson covers. A strained grimace weighing on her features whilst she looked to the love of her life.

She would stroke her hand through Talas’s greying hair. The backside of her palm making contact with the cold skin of his forehead, making her jump a bit as he had been warm only a few hours before.

Attempting to overcome the tears welling in her eyes, an action which she had come accustom to since she had awoken that morn. Elise leaned down and placed a gentle kiss atop the head of her belovéd.

“I love you, always and forever, my darling Talas.”

Florence embraced her now deceased brother in the seven skies. “Welcome ‘ome, brot’er. Ah’v missed ye,” she whispered quietly. A small smile spread on her features before letting go. She’d walk with him towards his family, which was – once again – united.
Partners in crime for ever, Talas. Rest well.

(This is late but...)

As Talas set foot into the seven skies, Ophelia offered a smile to the once boy. Though he was no longer a child, he was a man.

Her hand moved a piece of his onyx hair from his eyes before resting on his chin. She then spoke to her nephew, with a smile set on her lips.

“You have done well, my little dove. Welcome home.”
