frankdh 2418 Share Posted April 26, 2020 IMPERIAL CURRENCY EDICT, 1765 THE IMPERIAL MARK, as introduced by the Ministry of Treasury, is the official standardized currency of the Holy Orenian Empire as decreed by His Imperial Majesty. Minted by the Carrington Company, these marks stand as a unifying symbol of the Holy Orenian Empire. --- THE HUNDRED: HIM PETER III AND THE PETRUSIAN SIEGE The largest unit of currency shall be the hundred, with a length of six inches and a width of three and made of paper, bearing the symbol of the reigning monarch on the head side and the Siege of Petrus on the tail side. A hundred is worth one hundred minas or marks. THE FIFTY: HIM PETER III AND THE PETRINE CROSS The second largest unit shall be the fifty, with a width of two inches and made of gold, bearing the symbol of the reigning monarch on the head side and the Petrine Cross on the tail side. A fifty is worth fifty minas or marks. Each coin thereafter the fifty shall bear the emperor’s likeness on one side, changing with the beginning of each monarch’s reign. THE TWENTY-FIVE: HEIR-APPARENT The third largest unit shall be the twenty five, with a width of one and a half inches, bearing the symbol of the reigning monarch on the head side and the heir-apparent on the tail side (in the absence of an heir-apparent, a portrait of Ex. Sigismund shall take its place). A twenty-five is worth twenty-five minas or marks. Standing as a symbol of the future, the twenty-five mina coin shall act as a means to properly present to the peoples of the Empire their heir-apparent to the throne throughout the decades. THE TWENTY: SAINT TOBIAS AND HIS COMET The fourth largest unit shall be the twenty, bearing the comet of Saint Tobias on one side, an inch in width. This coin is the only silver one of the set, in honour of the comet itself. A twenty is worth twenty-five minas or marks. In the 1400s, Saint Tobias was but a grand man of humble beginnings, who soon gained grand wealth only to realize the importance of charity and the value of spiritual enlightenment, dedicating his life to such. After his passing, it is said a comet of shining silver and mystical metals made two such appearances to grant aid to those who prayed for his intercession. Contemporarily, the silver coin to accredit the saint is considered a coin of good fortune amongst many merchants. THE TEN: SAINT PONTIFF EVERARD IV The fifth largest unit shall be the ten. Made of iron, the ten mina coin is one inch in width, bearing the profile of Saint Everard IV on one side. A ten is worth ten minas or marks. Miserando atque eligendo; “Lowly but chosen” : Everard IV began as Josef Baldemar, a priest of Alban unwavering in his faith. He would go on to stand as the Imperial Regent of Humanity in a pivotal moment in history, serving to mediate religious and political disputes during the chaotic moments of the last years of the sixth empire throughout his pontificate, which lasted from 1622 to 1643. A hero of Haense, and considered to be one of the princess imperial’s favorite Orenian patriots. THE FIVE: LION OF BA’AS The sixth coin shall be the five. 1 inch in diameter, made of iron, this coin shows the memorable “Lion of Ba’as” on the tail-side. A five is worth five minas or marks. The Rhenyari celestial image of the lion of Ba’as has commonly become associated with Simon Basrid, who has stood as the Emperor’s Archchancellor since the year 1737. THE SINGLE: MT. SAINT CATHERINE Made of copper, a quarter inch in diameter. This is the most basic value of currency, for use in everyday affairs. The Mount St. Catherine, whose namesake acted as a defender and caregiver for those abandoned in the 5th empire, stands as a symbol of protection, the mountain’s watchful gaze witnessing the growth of the Republic of Ves, which was center-stage to the Troubles and Emperor Anthony I’s reign. THE HALF: THE RUBY OF HELENA The smallest of the coins, both in size and worth. A half-inch in diameter and made of copper, the half coin is worth a mere one-half mina. The ruby of Helena stands as a testament of the empire’s resolve and exemplifies its devotion to protecting the unification and faith of mankind. In the War of the Two Emperors hundreds of thousands of men died fighting for her, and in the Troubles that followed she was ever sought after. Yet despite all these sorrows, her blood red walls stand tall, dignified, and undefeated, just as the Empire does.

Crevel 7557 Share Posted April 26, 2020 Mister Muffins would count the marks in his hand, “Normally, I would praise originality, and attempts to try something new. However, the concept of an Imperial Mark is just an attempt to rival our own mark that we’ve had for decades, even centuries in prior realms. It doesn’t even have its own exchange rate which is unlike the Highland Mark.“ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/185959-the-morsen-mark-act-of-1735/
