In the Bastion, after apprehending Emma Elaine for apparent crimes, Peter d’Arkent brought her to his office to speak with her about the events and names regarding those she allegedly killed. Afterwards his daughter the defendant proceeded to break in and murder his granddaughter Emma Elaine in front of him in an act to attempt to avenge those Emma Elaine murdered.

THE CENTRAL CIRCUIT COURT

In accordance with the Legal Procedure Act of 1772, Sir Edward Galbraith, Justice of the Central Circuit Court, does duly assign himself to these proceedings. Accordingly, the assigned Justice shall schedule a preliminary hearing with the Plaintiff and the Defendant in order to review the merits of the case and decide if the matter shall be allowed to proceed to trial.

 

The following parties are to contact Justice Galbraith to arrange a suitable date to present themselves before the Court:

PLEA AGREEMENT for THE CROWN V. SELM

 

This document shall serve as stipulations agreed upon by the defense and the prosecution, where a trial need not be conducted to further determine the guilt or sentencing of the defense once signed by the prosecution and approved by the presiding Justice.

 

• That the defendant, Minerva Selm, admits guilt to murder without premeditation.
• That the defendant, Minerva Selm, shall pay a fine of one-hundred minas to the Courts.
• That the defendant, Minerva Selm, shall not be prosecuted again for the murder without premeditation of the nun Emma.
• That the defendant, Minerva Selm, shall serve, in permanence, as a conscript in the Imperial State Army.

ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS; 

The Crown Prosecution agrees, with the Defendant Party present, to drop all charges of the Oren Revised Code, CH 202 filed against MINERVA SELM, henceforth Miss Selm, in turn Miss Selm plead guilty to the ORC 202.041, a felony, and the ORC 207.041, a misdemeanor.

 

Miss Selm shall, as verdict upon the breachment of the ORC 202.041 and the ORC 207.041:

 

• Admit to guilt to murder without premeditation and vigilantism
• Pay a fine of one-hundred minas to the court
• Not be prosecuted for the murder of Emma Elaine
• Serve, in permanence, as a conscript to the Imperial State Army

THE RESPONSE OF THE CENTRAL CIRCUIT COURT

2nd of Harren's Folly, 1797

 

Justice Galbraith does hereby ACCEPT the plea agreement signed by the Plaintiff and the Defendant in this legal proceeding and orders its immediate enforcement. For that purpose, the Court shall immediately contact the Imperial State Army and the Imperial Treasury to inform them of the conscription of the Defendant into the military and of the payment of 100 Marks that the Imperial Treasury shall receive as prescribed by this Ruling.

 

May the Defendant fail to deliver the aforementioned payment to the Court in less than two saints week, she shall then respond as such and be sentenced to imprisonment by this Court for the time directly proportional to the monetary amount of the fine that remains unpaid.

 

This is the Ruling that I, Sir Edward Galbraith, as its presiding Justice, do hereby issue on behalf of the Imperial Courts, before the eyes of the almighty God and of our August Crown.
