I. Important Announcements

 

Krawn z. Kovachev

On the evening Joma and Umund 356 ES, Sergey Kovachev was charged with treason after physically harming a member of the Royal Family, Prinzenas Katerina Barbanov.  Jovenaars Sir Sigmar Baruch, Lukas Racozky, and Reza Gynsburg oversaw the ruling of the trial, finding Kovachev guilty of treason. The Defendant was sentenced to death by firing squad, an execution granted to those in the HRA.

Passing of Queen Viktoria of Metterden

 Upon the Msitza and Dargund of 355 ES, news broke of the sudden and tragic  passing of Queen-Mother Viktoria of Metterden. The late Queen-Mother suffered a heart attack and passed among the comforting presence of her sister, Lady Irene Ruthern. Her legacy as a Queen and warrior shall forever be cemented into the history of Hanseti-Ruska. The Royal Family thanks the citizens and allies of Haense for their kind words and condolences following the loss of the Queen-Mother.

 

Birth of Prinzenas Fenika

Born on the 12th of Gronna and Droba, 356 ES, Princess Fenika Lichte Barbanov is the first child of their Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Schattenburg. Like both of her parents, the young princess possesses black hair, and has her father's deep blue eyes

III. Upcoming Events in Karosgrad

 

Archdiocese of Jorenus Fish Fry

 Archdiocese of Jorenus welcomes all members of the Canonist faith to a fundraiser fish fry festival on the Tov and Yermey of 357 ES where various delectable seafood dishes will be served for attendees to enjoy. This event will assist in funding towards improvements for the infrastructure of the Church. Special thanks to House Amador and the D’Airelle family for assisting in the coordinating of this event.

The Troll Menace

This update serves as both a message and a warning to those reading, to the subjects of this Grand Kingdom. But as most know, there has been a menace in town, that being the increasingly fervent band of Trolls, who are all regularly appearing within the cities confines. However, do not fret! While a menace, this particular foe serves as more of a burden than a threat, due to them being particularly ill-witted and simply half-starved. So, if you do come across one of the named beasts, act accordingly and they will not bring you to home. Albeit they might pester you for food, but a couple minas worth of bread is worth more than your life, surely.

 

Howbeit, it was eventually bound to come to blows, a result of their constant appearing and demanding for food, and the patience of our beloved army growing thinner and thinner. In the initial spat, scouts had spotted the Trolls trotting up the road. So the Marshal plotted, and locked the gates, demanding they leave us be - it was all frivolous in the end. Thus, the gates were hoisted open and the trolls were left subject to cannon fire from our stout-hearted soldiers. In which one of their own did fall in the midst of battle, that being Hubert Porcher, who fought to his last breath in the brutal battle. May Godan let his soul rest. Three more were frozen to the bone, but fret not, for all have recovered and are prepared to be sent back into the fray.

 

In the most recent and crescendo of this happening, a bloody and barbarous battle ensued, just a few jogs from the outside gatehouse: The largest troll of their bunch, known as ‘Bido’ demanded that the Kingdom surrender its food, or risk it being taken by force. The Marshal refused after a brief back and forth, regarding diplomacy - which came to no avail. No man could have poised such an army, mere seconds before inevitable chaos, but he barked out commands and the battle set into place. Many were injured and cramped into wheelchairs for weeks and some for months, including Her Royal Majesty herself, Koenas Isabel. No such prayer is required, for all have recovered and the HRA have ultimately prevailed for now.

An Adventure North

In times of recent, the Knights of Hanseti-Ruska have uncovered a threatening group of towering beasts for men, all covered with fur. They dwell in the snow far North and have been actively kidnapping humans who have made the dangerous venture into the capped mountains. So our brave Knights took the venture themselves and discovered a cave of theirs. In doing so, they fortunately rescued countless men and women from the clutches of these beasts. However, as they delved into the cave further they stumbled upon an ancient and abandoned city; from where the beasts bide.

 

This telling comes with a request, at the behest of The Right Honourable, Ser Boris Ruthern, Knight Paramount of Haense. That being that no man or woman should dare take this venture, else they risk their lives being in imminent peril.

 

A Hapless Hunt

Penned by Her Royal Majesty’s Secretary, Lord Alric var Ruthern

 

This tale takes on a more unfortunate tone. For both Her Royal Majesty and His Serene Highness settled that they would be going hunting, accompanied by a few of our Knights - yet they did not find common game, but a monstrous foe. Such beasts were found a stone’s throw away from the Norlandic road, so do be warned if travelling it. Our Knights described them as bearing plant-like matter with slithering tendrils that snatched anything that came close. If snatched close enough, the green fiend would have surely devoured the bunch with its gaping and treacherous maw. And so our knights, flanked by our Royalty, combatted the named foes over a short but hard-fought battle.

 

It all culminated in an explosively woeful ending. On it’s last roots and without any victory in sight, the final beast riled and filled itself up to the brim. From there, it erupted, spattering all of those around it. It had spewed a particularly adhering and acidic fluid, wounding them all grievously. The Knights and His Serene Highness, Heinrik Barbanov have afforded us safety on those roads, at the cost of their own health. But alas, they triumphed; wounded or not. So now I ask that all of you clasp your hands together and utter a prayer to the named group, in hopes of swift recoveries.

V. Updates in the Royal Duma

 

Following the passing of Alderman Sergey Kovachev, Valerie d’Airelle was then appointed the position. Miss Valerie ran in the election of 355 ES for Tribune but unfortunately lost by three votes to Tribune Fyodor Erhdhart.

                         Wilheim reads this edition of the Koenas Curation. "This is better than Curon's old newspaper, but I would enjoy seeing the old Haense newspaper make a comeback." He'd finger through the missive, setting it by his bed to read it again later. T'was a hassle to try and be a Haenseti.
