Year 14 of the Second Age, 2nd of the Snow’s Maiden

一。 On Purpose and Definition of the Act

A program idea conceived to introduce those to Stewardry, but later expanded to encompass the various professions one might see within the settlement of Yong Ping.

The purpose of this act is to ensure the youth of Yong Ping learn skills that will help the individual later in life.

Apprenticeships and example tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Stewarding: Learning about the apprentice’s settlement and home along with the care of it.

  • Justice: Learning the ways of the law by overseeing petty arguments and keeping and recording papers on trials.

  • Military: Learning about martial prowess by assisting in or cleaning training areas and learning the basics of how to fight.

  • Religion: Learning of the rites and religions of Yong Ping along with the shadowing of a religious member.

  • Medicine: Learning the art of medicine by collecting and studying herbs for the apothecary and clinic, along with assisting in such places.

  • Foreign affairs: Learning of diplomacy by being sent to various settlements to learn the various cultures and customs.

  • Merchantry: Learning economics by learning and practicing a craft. This is a blanket apprenticeship for anything including the selling or creation of goods.

二。On Apprentices

To become an apprentice, the one applying for an apprenticeship must have the following requirements met:

  • The apprentice must be of age 13 or older.

  • The apprentice or the apprentice’s parent or guardian has contacted the Ministry of Interior to set up the apprenticeship.

  • The apprentice must be both mentally and physically able to commit to an apprenticeship.

  • The apprentice must not be in a current apprenticeship unless they have requested a change, but this is unadvised and may not always be granted.

三。On Teachers and Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship will last until adulthood, generally 18-20 years old, depending on the apprenticeship and the current skill level of the apprentice. It is up to the discretion of the teacher to determine if the apprentice is trained.

The teacher of the apprentice will be decided by a representative of the Ministry of Interior offering an apprentice. If accepted, the teacher is responsible for properly training the apprentice. If there are problems such as the teacher not teaching the apprentice or the teacher becoming deceased, the apprentice will be transferred to a new teacher. Any problems between teacher and apprentice must be directed to the Ministry of Interior.

。On Execution of the Act

This act comes into effect on the 2nd of Snow’s Maiden, year 14 of the Second Age.
