THE CROWN,

    Represented by CHARLES GALBRAITH of the MINISTRY OF JUSTICE,

   

    DESIRES TO SUMMON THE FOLLOWING PARTY TO COURT;

                ROBERT HELVETS

ON THE BASIS OF THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLE(S), DOCTRINE(S), EDICT(S) OR ARTICLES OF LAW:

 

Treason (O.R.C. 204.01) - Where an individual commits acts with the intent to compromise the integrity of the Crown and its constituent institutions by waging insurrection and seeking the destruction of the Imperial State by impugning the character and person of the Crown through subversive means such as collusion with enemy entities and actors against the State, this shall be the crime of treason.

Crime by Association (O.R.C. 209.05) - Where an individual directly associated to any convicted criminal, wherein evidence provided suggests cooperation between the convicted criminal and the individual, this shall be crime by association, and is subject to the same class of punishmnt of the crime of which the individual is associated with.

 

In which scenario any executive legal bodies of the Empire may enact the following law to further arrest, investigate and prosecute any individuals of the associated organization or entity, and is subject to the same class of punishment of the crime committed by the instigator.

The Crown, represented through the Ministry of Justice, has recently been informed that The Right Honourable Baron of Helvets, Robert Helvets, has been actively involved in the current Insurrection of Louis de Joannes against the Imperial State and has recently received evidence of his Guilt.

 

Therefore, the Crown wishes to take legal action against Robert Helvets to have him answer for his crimes against the Holy Orenian Empire before the Imperial Courts.

 

For all the above reasons, the Crown does hereby request the Court that, in the scenario that the Defendant is found Guilty by the Imperial Courts, he is sentenced to Death by Hanging in accordance with the Imperial Law and that the Penalty be enforced immediately as soon as the Ruling is issued.

THE CENTRAL CIRCUIT COURT

In accordance with the Legal Procedure Act, Henrik Komnenos, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, acting within the jurisdiction of the Central Circuit Court, does duly assign himself to these proceedings. Accordingly, the assigned Justice shall schedule a the day of the court case with the Plaintiff and the Defendant in order to review the merits of the case and decide if the matter shall be allowed to proceed to trial.

 

The following parties are to contact Justice Komnenos to arrange a suitable date to present themselves before the Court:

- The Defendant is obliged to present to the Court a Replying Affidavit at least one saint day before the time of the trial, outlining their responses to the alleged crimes.

 

- Both parties are to exchange their Books of Evidence and submit them to the Court at least one saint day before the trial is to occur.

A PROCLAMATION REGARDING THE CROWN V. HELVETS

To Our Beloved Subjects,

 

We Joseph II, by the grace of GOD Holy Orenian Emperor, do hereby appoint His Grace, The Duke of Sunholdt KCL as the new presiding officer of the trial of The Crown v. Helvets and decree that he shall have full authority to hear this case and to issue a judgement on behalf of the Crown that shall be unappealable and immediately enforced by Our law enforcement authorities. 

 

In addition, We, the Crown, decree that in the scenario that His Grace, The Duke of Sunholdt KCL is not available to preside over such trial, the trial of The Crown v. Helvets shall be presided by His Imperial Highness, The Duke of Helena John Charles.

 

Finally, We, the Crown, decree that any attempt to recapture Robert Helvets before or during his trial shall be interpreted as an act of continued collaboration on his part, and be penalized with summary execution.
