Far out, buried in the sand there lay an oasis where folk gathered, markets bustled and celebrations happened without second thought. And here, in The Oasis, a group of soldiers aged and young, wizened and naive, danced and danced and danced until the night grew old and the drinks ran dry. They tossed, spun, marched, and ran in a famously intricate Dabke with music pioneered by bards in the forefront.

 

And some say that this dance, The Falcon’s Dance, would unfold in the Fakhr Oasis every eve just as the moon reaches its peak!
