Upcoming Events The Attack on the Horde While it is not a specific event per say, Balian has decided to go aid our newfound allies (The Kingdom of Haense and The Grand Kingdom of Urguan) in a war against the Horde! In the missive written by His Excellency, The Legate, Constantine Malenos, on behalf of our Grand Duke, it reads: “The Grand Duchy of Balian shall answer a call to arms from her allies within the alliance. By the power invested by His Imperial Highness, the Grand Duke John Casmir, the Grand Duchy shall be  joining the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and the Dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska against those who protect the followers of Iblees and challenge the peace of the realm.”  Get your brown pants and your red shirts! 				Tea of the Week The Northern Almaris Treaty Organization
				In last week’s issue, we highlighted His Excellency, the Legate of Balian, Constantine Malenos’ work in foreign affairs for Balian. And today we see the hard work of His Excellency paying off!  After several meetings and discussions with the Kingdom of Haense and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, a strong friendship has been paved!  On the 9th of the Sun’s Smile, 12 BA, The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, and the Grand Duchy of Balian have signed a new defensive alliance. Their alliance includes military cooperation, free trade, and shall last for a period of 20 years.  To offer some Balianian history, the people of Balian were once Orenian. Before the civil war of the Orenian Empire in 1868, people of Balian were ruled by Emperors who chose to make the people of Haense and Urguan enemies. The nations have been enemies since before many of us were born. However, with the civil war, the people of Balian were able to separate themselves from a tyrannical Kingdom.				With this split, the people of Balian are able to make their own decisions and have turned once enemies into friends. A feat that the Orenian Empire has failed to accomplish for years upon years. It would seem that they really just are not trying very hard to make amends with Haense and Urguan. Perhaps they do not care to do so.   Nevertheless, after many sneakings to hang out with our friends in Haense and Urguan, we are happy to have our nations officially engaged in friendship. Honey Club Exclusive What’s happening in the greatest club in Almaris?					Bee Fact of the Week Working since Day 1   Did you know that bees have jobs just like people do? The way bees choose their jobs is by their age.  1-2 day old bees: have the job to clean the cells, and they start with the one they were born in.  3-11 day old bees: are tasked with feeding the larvae. 12-17 day old bees: are producers of beeswax, carry food, and build combs. 18-21 day old bees: are protectors of the hive’s entrance and act as guards. 22+ day old bees: fly from the hive to collect pollen, nectar, water, etc.     A worker bee
Big changes have happened within the Honey Club this week. Our beloved Queen Bee, Ekaterina vas Ruthern, has stepped down from her position. After lots of thought, she decided it would be best for her to retire as she was too busy with her new life as a ward in Haense. We thank you Rina, for all of your hard work for the bees. You will be deeply missed and we look forward to seeing you soon!   In other news, keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming events within the Honey Club!
Featured Product of the Week Bumble Bee Pom Pom Pin
This week’s Honey Club Product of the week is the Bumble Bee Pom Pom Pin made by The Silken Lilly. The pin is made of yellow and black woolen pom poms, arranged into the shape of a bumble bee! The pom poms are fashioned with small legs, antennae and wings made from wire. A safety pin is attached to the underside of the Bee so someone can wear it on their clothing!

A day in the life of a Balianian An insider look at a specially selected Balianian!
His Excellency, The Constable Peter Benedict d’Arkent	This week’s Balianian of the week is (insert drum roll here)... Our very own Constable of Balian, His Excellency, Peter Benedict d’Arkent! As many of you may know, the past Constable, now known as Bugwarm, has left his post in				The people of Balian have suffered much especially after they were uprooted from their original homes. Until the day the military matches the strength of the ISA of old, I will not rest.” That being said!, as Balian rolls into times of war, we urge you to sign up to join in on the fight! Join your fellow Balianians in the effort to exterminate the Horde and to bring peace to Almaris!
Balian. In his eternal absence, His Excellency, Peter d’Arkent has taken his place, and Balian is very glad for it. As you know Balian is going up in arms against the Horde with her allies in the Kingdom of Haense and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. That being said, we look to our Constable as the leader in Balian’s participation within the war. Balian as a Duchy puts her trust into His Excellency, Peter d’Arkent, and we could not be more at peace with the fact. As we do each week, we asked His Excellency a few questions! When asked about his favorite thing about Balian he noted “the fact that there are many like minded individuals that have come together to forge a new life for themselves.” We asked Constable Peter d’Arkent about his plans for Balian as our Constable and we were inspired by his words. Weekly Recap Missed Out? Here’s a Recap!		The Seneschal, Count Rev Vuiller as its leader. We are excited to see this new chamber work its magic for the betterment of Balian!    Last saint’s week our Grand Duke announced that he shall be taking a pilgrimage across the South for the duration of this coming saint’s week and a half. We are very excited to hear what our Grand Duke has to say about his pilgrimage and eagerly await his return! With our Grand Duke away, His Excellency, Rev Vuiller, shall be the acting Regent of Balian until our Duke’s return.    Last saint’s week concluded our Syndesi Feriae with the final event, a grand ball. The Syndesi Feriae was a wonderful experience for everyone who attended, and we look forward to the next!   And that’s a wrap on the weekly recap. Stay tuned for upcoming events this week so you don’t miss out!				Job Postings Palace Openings  The Palati Monterosa are looking for anyone to perform various tasks. Some tasks can be either servantry, or even to the higher positions. Governess Ember Munnel, Lady Chamberlain Johanne Vuiller, and Countess Diana Vuiller are open to interview anyone regarding palace positions or further questions.   Brown Bear’s Rest The Brown Bear’s Rest is looking for people to perform various tasks with bartending, or collecting materials to help continue the bottle-making process. With each drink sold, a singular mina can be earned. Every year, ten minas will also be given. Contact Baron Drako Darkwood for further questions or to apply.   Censor Office The Censor Office is hiring people for their immigration department! Immigration deals with helping new-comers in Balian while also sending out flyers around Alarmis. Contact Countess or Count Vuiller if you would like to apply.   Treasury  The Treasury is currently seeking people who will assist with stewardship abilities. Being a steward consists of selling and assisting property questions. Contact Treasurer Johanne Vuiller for further questions or applications.

This saint’s week was an eventful week for Balian. It started off with a hellish battle in the streets of Balian. During a peaceful afternoon, a group of creatures entered Balian on horseback, searching for food. But Balianians were too smart for this and knew their intentions were more sinister! After hours of long fighting, Balianians were able to send these non-human entities back to where they came from in a pile of black dust!   In other news, Balian has revamped the Grand Duke’s council with His Excellency,

Holy God,  During these trying times we see our people once more gather as the sound war drums fill the air. Our people ready themselves to fight against the heathens and pagans who taint His terra. The Azdrazi threat and their allies who are a threat against all of His creations. The lizard kin who so easily turned their back upon God. Thus they shall be destroyed by the united legions of the Canondom.    Therefore, we ask you God. That you protect our kin, that you protect your noble flock and those who shall work to clean the world of this stain. Give us the strength of all the Exalted and your Saints. Amen. "When I was Foreign Secretary, we made peace with Haense and peace with Urguan both. Though that peace did not last, to say that the Empire and its leaders did not strive to do so is flawed, at best. And revisionist, at worst. A lovely paper, but this claim is simply wrong. For those I fought for to claim that we didn't try, that I didn't try, breaks my heart more than words can say."
