A LETTER OF APOLOGY

IN THE REGARDS TO THE DECEASED ACREAN DOG

THE REAL ONE, NOT FIGURATIVELY

16th of Harren's Folly, 1896

It has been brought to my attention that a slain Acrean dog was desecrated in some cheap attempt to send a message of intimidation or whatever sorts to the House de Vilain - the hound-dog being their family animal, just as dragons are to my family (albeit harder to pick up off the street, I’d assume).

It must be made wholeheartedly known, that the House of Alstion, nor should any of its vassals, does not condone the killing the innocent, even that of a dog - which is the ultimate source of purity, for it is comprised of only love and affection for those who take care of it.

We do not yet know who has gone to such lengths to lay waste to the dog in such a manner, making it a presumably rogue action by one of ours, or by one sympathetic to our cause, or perhaps an independent actor with an agenda leveraged against the Barony. We shall track the source eventually, and do unto them what they have done to the dog.

Nevertheless, seeing this blame pinned on us, we wish to dispel any concern that there was any conceited Aaunic plot to resort to such tactics.

We ask whoever was affected to contact us by way of the Minitz aviary, so that we may arrange a compensation of a 1000 Crowns, and issue them our formal apology for not having been capable of knowing of such actions so that we could have stopped it. We understand that perhaps nothing can be done to fully soothe one's turmoil at the loss of their furry companion, but regardless, wish to help in any way we can.

Signed,

Charles Alstion
