Nolan_ 4219 Share Posted March 26, 2023 THE FAIR FIGHT EDICT BAR MAAN OVARE SYR Issued by the LORD PALATINE In accordance with the wishes of the CROWN On this 4th day of Tov and Yermey of 470 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK Defined by the late King Karl III as an art “to preserve and protect one’s honour”, duelling has had its place in Haeseni society for centuries and dates all the way back to before even the very founding of the Duchy of Haense. Admirably, duelling was liberalised in modern history and done so with noble intentions. However, the system has proven too unwieldy without Crown or Aulic Court approval and oversight and has led to more civil disputes rather than remedying them. Thus we find it necessary to make the following changes: Law of the People JURA I OSOBAZ Duelling XXII All duels to settle disputes require the permission of the Crown or a Jovenaar to proceed. Either may enforce the terms on which a duel takes place and the terms of victory should no agreed upon terms be made. Only the Crown may consent to a family duel. XXIII Civil disputes may be remedied in the form of a duel to determine by honourable means the wronged party. The terms of the duel can be agreed upon with the consent of both parties. XXIV Nobility shall be entitled to settle familiar disputes in the form of a family duel to determine by honourable means the wronged party. The terms of the family duel can be agreed upon with the consent of both parties. XXV Should a duel be to the death, the victor may not be taken to trial for the resulting death.
