This post first came about as a recommendation of Tada as a means of honouring and appreciating Gus and future leaders for all the effort put in, out and in-game, for the community of Haense and its players. There is nothing which could be said in prologue that is not said by those who have chosen to contribute, but to be sure:

“While I’m not usually one for compliments, especially to the people I know well, Gusano of House Arentonio went from my Arch Nemesis and filthy Orenian dog to a dear ally and friend. On a serious note, Gus is an integral part of the Haense community and has the patience and kindness to talk to anyone he meets, he suffered the excruciating task of being a Nation Leader and made it out the other side reasonably well off. He is a great RPer and a chill guy to hang out with.”

“While I rarely agree with Gus on anything at all remotely related to minecraft, I still recall he was the first person I didn't already know who really made an effort to welcome me both into Haense and the wider community. Without him, I don't imagine I'd ever have stuck around. I'm always glad to know that he'll be willing to listen to me vent or hang around playing terrible games, and It's hard to deny that he's been a great community leader for ages now. I only hope his newfound freedom and deep seated hatred don't keep him too occupied to come around."

“The first person to offer me a persona going into Haense was Gus (and ofc shay). From day one I was brought into Haense and I felt like all the sudden I had a community. Gus has been so sweet and I'd honestly never have made it into Haense if it weren't for the funny guy Haense knows and loves. He's done an amazing job and worked so hard to see that Haense would grow strong. Even in the times I felt like there was a disconnect and we were in trivial situations. Gus was always solid. Overall great guy. Quite amusing and I'm glad to be apart of the community he helped to create and foster.”

“During my first while in Haense, it was always intimidating walking up to a new experienced person, for fear of being ignored or walked away from. Gus was one of those people who walked TO me, and helped me to break out of my shell within my first month, and I very much doubt I, as well as many people, would have gotten as far as I have without him. “Gus was one of the first people that I met when I joined the server, and he welcomed my friends and I with open arms. Since then, he's become someone I talk to near daily and hang out with off the server (and one of the people who proofreads a lot of my posts). He is very considerate of others and their experiences, and can tiptoe around difficult situations while making people laugh. His PK of Georg is a well deserved break, and I hope you take some time off for yourself, Gus"

“When I joined Haense at the end of 2022, I was hesitant I would even stick around let alone make any friends in the community. Yet, Gus was one of the most welcoming to me. Even in the short time we have known each other, I have found that he is always committed to uplifting those around him. There isn't a moment where he isn't cracking up a joke in VC, or spewing some random things that has us going off-topic for ages. He's made me feel apart of something, and I'm so thankful that he has given me the opportunities to start new storylines on the server, whilst also appreciating our newfound friendship. He's done so much for the Haense community over the years. Whilst I never got to witness it all and only his reign as king, I recognise that Gus is an exceptional player and I'm so excited to see what comes next for his narratives. I would say a lot more but I wouldn't want to get all mushy, hahaha, but thank you so much for everything you've done for myself and Haense."

He was eager to get involved with new players and helped me, personally, begin grounding myself in the history and lore of the human realms when I was only maybe a month into the server which was a massive bolstering in confidence. He’s been welcoming, inclusive and I cannot thank him enough for the early support and fun. Later, he also showed himself to be massively helpful when I had questions. He’s gladly joined into VCs and answered whatever folks have needed to hear to the fullest of his ability. His laid-back and fun-loving ways have always made him exceptionally easy to work with, providing confidence and fun to those around him as much as he can by emboldening and supporting ideas! And more than any of that, he’s just been a good laugh to hang around with dumb roasts and memey games. Look after yourself Gus and keep being a cool-beans level dude."

"Being a new player to the server only a year or two ago, I recall being extremely anxious to involve myself in the community, but Gus was extremely welcoming, kind, and inclusive toward me. He's genuinely one of the kindest people I've ever met. He's so extremely funny, and I love being able to hang out with him - this appreciation post is insanely overdue, because he deserves every number of thanks from the player base of Haense for all he's done for it. Acting as a peer, palatine, and King, he's gone above and beyond for us just so we have somewhere to creatively express ourselves, and he's sat and spoken to me numerous times when I've been struggling, advising me on anything that I ask of him. He's a great guy, and I'm proud to call him somebody that I can rely on."
