Issued & confirmed by,

THE DUCHY OF STRAN
On the 11th of the Suns Smile, 1932

TO OUR RAEVIR COMRADES & FELLOW PEERS,

In the past few months, Her Grace was informed by doctors that she was carrying another Ivanovich but with her Declining health she was to be confined to bed rest. Only hours before her son was to be wed, Cressida had gone into labor which unfortunately neither she nor the Babe survived.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Duchess, Cressida Marie of Aldersberg. Her titles will be passed to her Brother, George of Aldersberg. Her Relics to be handed off to her sister Justine d’Artois.

A funeral will be announced in the coming days.

SIGNED,

For the finale time, His Grace, Ser Jan Ivanovich,
Duke of Stran, Protector of Raev and the Vaškan Steppe

Justine thought that it would be positive news the day that the door was knocked upon. She enthusiastically greeted the Raevir pageboy, though once the notion wasn't returned, the Aldersberg knew something was off. Her irises darted towards the will in his hands, which he solemnly raised to present to her. She read the missive, and before she could even finished her fingers went limp- allowing the parchment to slowly drift to the ground. Gasps desperate for air emitted from her fragile figure as she immediately resorted to sobbing, unable to breath between such violent wails.

Cressida, the strongest woman she knew, had passed in childbirth.

The Dame would cry for a while, and even when all the tears had been shed, she would possibly never recover from such a loss.

Istvan read the missive with shaking hands. The Ivanovich attempted to keep his composure whilst sitting beside his wife. However, each word that he read only further pierced his heart until tears streamed down from his stoic eyes. The silent Ivanovich could do nothing but stare down at the parchment as droplets of tears fell upon it.

"Mamej." He would finally utter. "Y miss vy..."

From his speech made at his son's wedding the Duke-Emeritus would walk forth to his home, a somber sigh escaped his lips. He thought back on all the memories and the family they had built, through all the conflict, time apart, and in their final moments together he knew this would not be forever and they would be together soon again.

"Fear not that you leave your children alone in this world my darling, I will look after them and ensure your memory is never forgotten. Our time has come to an end but I shall see you again soon my love."

Jan would then approach his chambers where his final moments together with Cressida were had, he sighed once more before offering a somber prayer before resting for the night.

Anastaja Marie had not been home at all that day. Who would? Her brother was getting married and she got to be the flower girl. It was any child's dream and she planned on living it out to the fullest, spending most of her time picking flowers. Inhaling the smell of each and every one, sneezing consecutively afterward. Upon Izabela’s arrival at Stran, she turned her attention to following the bride around because she thought doing that was helpful. Many events were to happen that day, including a peace treaty, a wedding, a brawl, and so many other things that she would not be aware of... including the death of her mother.

Perhaps the flowers she collected should have been for her.

Anastaja chose to return to the Keep after her brother's wedding, not one that enjoyed the after-parties of most events. Instead, she wished to spend time with her mother, their small tea parties were her favorite, especially when her mother would occasionally help her with her drawings, braiding bracelets, or even her writing letters. She was excited to tell her mother that she had done amazing as the flower girl, likely attempting to crawl atop her lap and fiddle with the woman's coils of blond, though at the age of seven perhaps she was just a bit too big.

Upon her arrival, she scurried to the tea room, her mother not in sight. The child wandered the halls, an occasional, "Mamej!" being called out. It echoed. Despite the bustling of servants and the occasional murmurs that failed to reach the girl's ears due to sheer ignorance, it echoed. She was met with nothing but the sound of herself and for someone her age that was quite the overwhelming feeling. As she hurried her way to her mother’s room, she hadn’t even reached the flight of stairs upon seeing the bloody sheets being removed to be replaced with much cleaners whites. It was not her first interaction with the concept of death, so as she was given the cold shoulder to her many questions—not because they were unanswerable but because no one wanted to—reality sunk in.

Finally, the whispers of those around her began to seep in and it did not take long for the news to reach her through the murmurs of servants. News that would destroy the poor girl’s world before a missive even reached the town just beyond their gates.

The youngest Ivanovich could be heard wailing from her room all throughout the Keep, and would likely be doing so for the next few days until the funeral was to be announced.

Morrigan Arthalion did not personally know the wife of Jan Ivanovich, but she'd be sure to express her well wishes in letter form to the old friend.

Myrilla Petrov signed the Lorraine as she heard of the news. She remained within the walls of her Manor along with her family... all of them saying a prayers for their late Duchess.

George Arthur, the new Marquis of Aldersberg, entered the family Estate, his expression filled with sorrow upon receiving news of his beloved sister's passing. The atmosphere within seemed more desolate than ever before. . .

The Lady Viktoria Ivanovich inhaled sharply at the news. Her mouth grew dry as cottonballs, and she stared blankly at the wall within her room. Her Mamej was gone. The young lady Raev didn't leave her room for some days after that, nothing but silence heard from within those walls. She missed her mother terribly already.
