Abject Failure

Acknowledgement

 

Many years ago Haelun’or stood as a Bastion of innovation, stoically declaring to the world our brilliance and determination. We championed the Sciences, Magic, Culture and even harbored a powerful Military. We gazed upwards into starlight and etched into the very sky itself, the reflection of our steepled rooves and bustling abodes. At the peak of our society we held outstretched, our hands to those beneath us that they may join us in our majesty and aim for better. 

 

Today however, Haelun’or is a husk of its former self. It does not deserve the namesake from which it is derived. Larihei weeps at the tragic loss of her peoples’ vision and determination. Wretched are those whose lust for power - whose hands have led us into darkness. Doomed are those who cling on to those blighted tendrils in hope. When we forfeit our voice to those in authority, they speak for us. When we forfeit our aims to those in authority, they steer us.

 

The fate of our Nation’s well-being historically, as is the case with most Nation’s, is tied to whoever is at the helm. There have been times when great leaders have risen and taken Haelun’or from ruin to glory. There have been times when great leaders have risen and taken Haelun’or from doom to prosperity. There have been times when poor leaders have risen and taken Haelun’or from greatness to destitution. Thus the fate of our Nation is at the mercy of those who grasp for the reigns. This has been our fatal flaw and I say this as someone who led our Nation dutifully from vice to virtue, from death to life as Sohaer and then Maheral.

Dissonance

 

How then, are we to rid ourselves of this blight? The answer is simple. We ought not be led by Tyrants, rather we ought to be led by the Silver Maiden. We hold as our core guiding philosophy, Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya - Yet this principle to many of us  is just a collection of words. There is no depth to them, nor is there depth to our culture. It would appear that Tea Parties and Gala’s are the pinnacle of what our culture has to offer - nay, these trivial things are but a distraction. Those who rule us do so in ABJECT FAILURE, for they neglect the very essence of what our Nation is. We were set apart from the world, we were great once - a people of esteem and pride but now we are merely another pawn to be sacrificed in the affairs of greater powers. 

 

ENOUGH

 

It is time that Haelun’or reasserted itself as one of the great and leading powers on this land. Not a Nation, but the Nation. And to do this, we need to refocus our efforts and adjust our aim.

Resolution

 

The solution is quite clear and would end forever, the corrosive stagnancy and power struggles which have historically plagued our blessed civilization. Though the powers that be will not tolerate such a solution. Should you wish to hear my words simply ask and I shall speak, though I fear the hour is too late and that darkness has reaped what it has sown. 

 

Perhaps still, the light of Larihei shines in the hearts of some of you, blessed pure.
