A freshly forged Arcanium Atronach Core

Preface

The process of creating Atronachs has remained largely unchanged over the years. Forgers have relied on tried and true methods that involve using a magegold core and focus crystals, which has proven to be an efficient and effective approach. However, some curious minds have always questioned whether there could be a more innovative and unique way to create Atronachs that would result in truly breathtaking creations. Thus, the concept of using Arcanium Cores was born.

Arcanium is a special material that takes on a distinctive form during the forging process, making it an ideal component for crafting Atronachs. One of the most exciting things about using Arcanium Cores is that they can be enchanted with spells of opposing elements, creating new possibilities for Atronach customization.

Atronachs with Arcanium Cores have a few notable differences from their standard counterparts. Most notably, they are crafted for aesthetic purposes, adding an array of colors and styles to the range of Atronachs that can be created. The unique properties of Arcanium also allow for the mixing of different elements, resulting in a wide variety of possible combinations that yield visually stunning Atronachs.

Overall, the use of Arcanium Cores offers a fresh perspective on the creation of Atronachs, inspiring forgers to experiment with new materials and designs. This has expanded the possibilities for creating unique and captivating Atronachs that can be used for a range of purposes, from combat to decoration.

Creation of an Arcanium Core

The creation of an arcanium core is not much different then simply tacking on regular arcanium creation onto the creation of a regular Atronach ‘core’. Similar to regular Atronach cores, you start off with an inner core of focus crystals encased in a sphere of your metal of choice, noting the metal will be effectively destroyed during the Arcanium Forging Process. Afterwards, you simply follow the steps of regular Arcanium forging, bombarding the metal with enough mana to transform it. If the arcanium is successfully transformed, you can begin the next steps of creating the actual atronachs or atronach limbs, treating it as any other Atronach Core.

Similar to the creation of Arcanium itself, the process of creation an Arcanium Atronach core is not inherently open knowledge, and must be taught in roleplay, though, if the player knows the Arcanium Forging process, the process of creation regular Atronach cores, and the existence of Arcanium cores they would feasibly be able to combine that knowledge together with simple experimentation.

Redlines of Creation:

  • Creation of the Arcanium Atronach core follows all the lore and redlines of the creation of arcanium, including rolling and its modifiers (Lore Here)

  • The core must  be inert before beginning the Arcanium forging process

  • Like the forging of all other Arcanium objects, the creation of an Arcanium Core takes three emotes to do, assuming that you have the necessary mundane core beforehand.

  • Screenshots for proof of roleplay is required to have the core signed

  • For the creation of an Atronach with an Arcanium core, the forger must have knowledge of both of the elements involved in the process, or must have someone present who does have the required knowledge

Non - Combative

The addition of an Arcanium core to any of the elemental types of Atronachs presents an exciting opportunity for Forgers to create aesthetically unique constructs. However, it is important to note that this customization does not alter the inherent abilities of the Atronach, which are determined by its elemental type. The ‘general’ look of the Atronach will remain the same as its base element, with the Arcanium Core adding a unique spin to its visuals

While the Arcanium core adds a visually stunning touch to Atronachs, the spells that they are capable of casting remain the same. The appearance of the Atronach's spells will mirror the look of the Atronachs Base Element, and the effects of the spells themselves will not be altered.

Elemental Core from Final Fantasy Origin

  • Earth Atronach (Earth and Sand):

    • Fire Arcanium Core: Brimstone -> Its body appears to be made of a combination of magma and sulfur, a rotten stink emitting from it as it moves. The atronach seems to be perpetually followed by a cloud of ash.

    • Water Arcanium Core: Rising Tide -> Its body appears to be a mountain with rivers flowing down of it, canyons formed upon its form. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by splashing water.

    • Air Arcanium Core: Meteoric → Its body appears to be made of meteoric rocks, as if the universe was contained within it. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by an aura of mysticism.

    •

  • Fire Atronach:

    • Earth Arcanium Core: Lava →Its body appears to be made of lava; molten rocks and magma that flow endlessly. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by an aura of heat and cinder.

    • Water Arcanium Core: Steam → Its body appears to be made of hot water and steam much alike a living geyser. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by a cloudy aura.

    • Air Arcanium Core: Smoke → Its body appears to be ethereal, formed from smoke only, unable to see through it. This atronach seems to release a small trail of foggy smoke when it moves.

    •

  • Water Atronach (Water and Ice):

    • Fire Arcanium Core: Boiling → Its body is formed of boiling water, bubbles forming on its surface and releasing small amounts of steam. This atronach seems to perpetually emit from its form.

    • Earth Arcanium CoreMud → Its body appears to be made of mud and vines taken from the deepest swamps. This Atronach seems to be perpetually followed by a rotten stink

    • Air Arcanium Core: Stormcloud → Its body appears to be formed of a darkened cloud, a thunder kept within its form. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by the sound of thunders.

  • Air Atronach:

    • Fire Arcanium Core: Lightning → Its body appears to be made of thunder and lightning, creating loud sounds and shiny sparks. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by static electricity.

    • Earth Arcanium Core: Glitter → Its body appears as a collection of tiny pieces of glitter suspended throughout its plating, shimmering and reflecting light as they shift about. This atronach seems to be perpetually followed by the occasional loose sparkle.

    • Water Arcanium Core: Mist → Its body appears to be made of a gentle misty breeze, much like flowing humid wind. This Atronach seems to be perpetually followed by humid air.

Redlines:

  • The spells and abilities of the Atronachs still depend on the type, the core ONLY gives aesthetic differences.

  • The effects of the spells and abilities of the Atronachs is still dependant on the type, Lava Atronachs will use fire spells if they are fire atronachs if the Core is made of Earth Arcanium and rocks would not be hot if they are Earth Atronachs with Fire Arcanium cores.

  • Aesthetic choices are left open to the player and forger as long as it stays within reasonable changes.

  • The Arcanium Core must be held on the Atronach inventory, losing it would mean losing the core and thus destruction of the Atronach. It must be ST signed, hold the important magical item tag and indicate; type of Atronach, type of Arcanium and aesthetic choice along with the MC name of the player and the name of the Atronach.

  • Limbs with a core of the different type of their element would not see their Elemental Affinity increased in tier but they would be able to give the chosen aesthetic to it.

  • Telekinetic Atronachs would not have any aesthetic change if an Arcanium Core of any kind is used on them, but all Arcanium Cores would increase their mana storage, as explained below in the Elemental Coincidences.

  • The changes made by including an Arcanium Atronach core are wholly aesthetic, keeping the actual physical properties to that of the Atronach type, for instance. A fire type atronach, combined with a water Arcanium Core will still burn you, but the vice versa will not.

Elemental Coincidences:

If an individual were to possess a limb that contained an Arcanium Core identical in type to that of their Atronach limb, they would have the capability to utilize Elemental Affinity to the same extent as a T4 Mage. With the inclusion of the Arcanium Core, the Elemental Affinity would be enhanced, empowering the Atronach Limb and granting its wielder complete control over the associated element. This would allow for the manipulation and bending of the element at will, without any limitations or hindrances. The Arcanium Core, acting as a powerful source of energy, would amplify the wielder's ability to harness the element and exercise full mastery over it.

Mechanics:

  • Elemental Affinity allows for the wielder of an Atronach Limb to create passive art using their evocation. This art, with the help of an Arcanium Core matching the element of the limb, allows the user to conjure their element to the level of precision of a T4 Evocationist.

  • This ability is identical to the non-combat Conjure Element ability of each respective evocation, as used at T4, and follows all relevant limitations.

  • In the case of a Telekinetic Atronach Limb, those same boons would be given by any Arcanium core; Allowing them to shift their plates at will as if using Alter Shape.

Redlines:

  • Elemental Affinity can only be used in non-combat situations.

  • All evocation art is limited by all the redlines of the original evocation.

  • Requires line of sight.

  • Telekinesis Limbs do not gain elemental affinity, though they gain the ability to shift their plating within the limits of Atronach Lore, with volume always remaining constant.

In the case where the element of a CA Atronach (Creature Application), Micro-Atronach or Atronach Drone is aligned with the Arcanium type of their core, the capacity of mana that a full Atronach can hold will be increased. As a result, the duration of time between recharge cycles will be extended, effectively reducing the frequency at which these Atronachs will require refueling.

The matching of Arcanium type with the element of the Atronach is a crucial factor that determines the efficiency of its mana storage. When the element of the Atronach matches with the Arcanium core, the stored mana is much more stable and can be retained for longer periods without any significant loss of energy. This enables the Atronach to function for a longer duration before requiring a recharge.

In essence, the compatibility between the element and the Arcanium core plays a vital role in optimizing the performance ofA, and it's essential to consider this factor when designing and utilizing these mechanical beings.

Mechanics:

  • The amount of stored mana will be roughly an additional week added on to the regular time between recharges, bringing up the time frame from recharging every two weeks to recharging every three weeks.

  • In the case of a Telekinetic Atronachs, those same boons would be given by a all Arcanium cores, giving the same boon of longer charge times.

Redlines:

  • Due to the increase of the amount of mana it can store, the Atronach can no longer be manually refueled by the Forger completely. Requiring recharging at an obelisk to reach the final third week of charge.

  • The recharging time has been increased to 1 OOC hour and a half to completely recharge.

  • In order to manually refill an Atronach, the mage that is refilling the construct must have knowledge on Atronach Forging, be a Transfigurationist AND have knowledge of Arcanium Forging.

The Destruction of and Adverse Effects upon the Core

Physical Attacks

Due to the inherent strength bonus of Arcanium versus Magegold, an Arcanium Atronach core will have an advantage over physical attacks upon it. Requiring an additional hit to the core to render the atronach useless. This number is based of the element of the Atronach itself, NOT the core. Liquid atronachs will take 4 hits to destroy the core, and solid atronachs will take 5 hits to destroy the core, assuming that you have the ability to actually hit it.

Elemental Weaknesses

Much like their regular cored counterparts, Arcanium Core atronachs have different elemental weaknesses that will be effective in their destruction. These weaknesses will be the same as the base element of the atronach. For instance, like a regula fire Atronach any of the Fire Atronach variants (Lava, Steam, Smoke) will be put out when water is poured onto them.

Null Arcana

Arcanium Atronach Cores follows the lore and redlines outlined in the Severed Alchemy Lore post, if hit with Null Arcana, they will be stunned for [2] emotes.

Auric Oil

Arcanium Atronach Cores follows the lore and redlines outlined in the Essential Oil Lore post, if hit with Auric Oil, they will be stunned for [1] emote.

Abjuration

Arcanium Core Atronachs are weak to Abjuration

Redlines

  • Each of the weaknesses all follow the lore and redlines that they are derived from, especially pertaining to specific potions like Null Arcana and Auric Oil, and specific spells like Abjuration and Dragons Flame

PURPOSE:

As per the existing lore on various types of Atronachs, it is indicated that the cores are constructed solely from Magegold, with no reference to the use of Arcanium Cores. Although the application of Magegold cores appears to be reasonable, it is peculiar that no documentation is available on the creation of Atronachs using Arcanium, the metal made of and for Voidal utility.

Our effort to introduce Arcanium Cores to the creation of Atronachs serves to provide additional functionality and aesthetic options to these mechanical beings. This approach aims to enhance the overall design of Atronachs and allow for more creative freedom in their appearance, breaking free from the conventional association of each construct with a particular element.

By incorporating Arcanium Cores into Atronachs, it expands the potential uses and applications of Arcanium, which was previously limited to other fields of Voidal Magic. The introduction of this new element into the creation of Atronachs opens up new possibilities for enhancing their functionality and durability. Moreover, it presents a broader range of aesthetic choices for designing Atronachs that are not limited by the element they are associated with.

In conclusion, the inclusion of Arcanium Cores in the construction of Atronachs expands their potential and allows for a broader range of aesthetic choices in their design, leading to more innovative and creative possibilities for these mechanical constructs.

 General Redlines

  • Arcanium Atronach cores must be carried by the Atronach that they are part of

  • When creating an atronach with an Arcanium Core, an additional emote will be required to safely and effectively mix the elements within the Atronach and Arcanium Core.
