BY THE WORD OF MAYOR SIR AIMO “THE ECCENTRIC” OF ASTOR,

As I stood guard in a meeting for our royals I was assailed by unknown forces which caused me to falter through the reality we know. One moment I was where I should be, the next I was in a hallway of fabric flooring, yellow walls enhanced by the lighting which was lodged into the roof of it, almost everything looking nearly the same. Getting my bearings I sought to use the old method of dealing with mazes, pick a wall and hug it, as I did so I happened upon a pipe and went in.

This area was different, I had to cross an opening and cross through rooms which looked like sewers, these rooms I trudged through knee deep water. Something was behind me, something which was following me and coming quick, it sounded like a child. I picked up my pace, not trusting who I did not know in a place I knew not where. I made sure to cover my tracks and limit the progress of what was following me before I was cornered between what seemed like an infinite fall and it. I decided to take the plunge and as I looked back I saw that which had pursued me. It looked like a cultist adorned in all black, a same colored veil which covered the crimson eyes which stared at me during my plummet. The fall seemed to be endless and yet also instant.

Either an eternity or a moment later I landed back in the room I left. I know not where I landed the first time I seemingly warped in and out of reality, yet I know that the curse of the mayor dying to the first unfortunate thing to happen to them has ended.

As of current my witnesses are the following:

Queen Renilde

The Heir Catriona

The Chanzle Konstantin

With this I declare the curse of the mayor broken.

"This guy is tough as nails." Renilde had seen the man fall through the floor and tumble back in many moments later. During his absence, she had worried that the newest Mayor of Vallagne had been taken by the curse which befalls every Petran Mayor. Yet, to see the universe spit the mayor back out, mostly unscathed, brought joy to her heart. "THE CURSE IS LIFTED!"

Sigismund von Theonus became increasingly worried about the Mayor's psychological state of mind.

Sitting upon a bench within the halls of the Vallagne, Konstantin was handed a copy of the latest declaration directly by his old friend, Aimo@ColdestPepsi. "My friend, I consider this normal for you. But nonetheless, congratulations! We ought to celebrate the Commonwealth's victory over disappearing mayors, I'd wager you shall see through your whole term, and then some." The Waldenian promptly rose to his feet as he made his way towards the tavern. They both needed a drink.

Aster von Theonus gasped upon reading the Mayor's account. "Ich am glad our Mayor survived entering what sounds like it could be the back rooms of the World... Gott knows those places can get creepy!"

The declaration drifts from the place and lands on Artels plans for an anti net fishing ship, he blinks as he reads it quickly "******* what happened?!" he shakes his head and shrugs, returning to his work, he must protect the trout.

Theoderic von Theonus stopped to read it after many frantic moments pacing the Petran tax office and muttering about collecting taxes. He came to a sudden stop after a realization. "Someone's finally done it. The curse is broken!"

There it stood, that black-veiled cultist, watching the man plummet into the endless infinity.

Another missive found it's way under the cosmic gaze of Haus - though it was nigh-rapidly dismissed as another publication of some verbose proclamation of immoral conflict. He read further, finding his gaze stuck on the last line - the description of the cultist. The missive was set aside as he began to write, furiously, to the cursebreaker mayor.

Sir Mayor,

Your encounter, as fate would have it, was not mere coincidence but the next step in a torturous series of events, one I have been trailing since the flooding of Whitespire. I seek to further understand what cannot be explained over written and spoken word. Write back with haste so we may see eye-to-eye, and get to the bottom of this.

Kindly,

Haus

P.S - Please politely inform your Queen is it probably Petran land next to be struck by penance and sin. In my professional opinion, begin preparing what you need to survive, be it food and shelter or the means of evacuation.

@ColdestPepsi

The Watcher doesn't wait much longer as he gathers his things, and makes for the Commonwealth.

He will not be caught off-guard again. As he rides, his gaze is split between the road ahead, and the night sky above.
