The grand halls of the margrave's castle echoed with the hushed whispers of anticipation as Ottavia, the margrave's wife, ascended the stairs to her chambers. Guided by her loyal ladies, Ottavia's steps were steady, her expression calm. She was no stranger to the pains and joys of childbirth, having done this four times before. However, fate had chosen this occasion to cast a shadow over the joyous event. As the baby took its first breaths, a subtle shift occurred, a dark omen that would soon reveal itself as a fever. In the aftermath of the birth, Ottavia and the newborn found themselves ensnared by the cruel grasp of illness.

TO OUR FRIENDS OF THE REALM,

On the 1st of Sigismunds End in the year of our lord 1950, The Margravine of Stassion went into labor. While the castle staff were accustomed to this routine, Complications arose, resulting in a fever to take hold of Her Highness and the baby. Despite the best efforts of the court Physicians, both the Margravine and the Babes' condition has continued to deteriorate over the past few days. In light of these developments, we humbly request the people of Stassion to offer their prayers for the Household.

Princess Charlotte, sister-in-law to the Margravine, had not left the poor woman’s side since the onset of her labor. Dabbing her forehead with a wet rag, combing her hair, and making sure she was well tended to. Even though Charlotte was not the most religious Princess, she prayed many times in these nights. “May GOTT heal and protect vy.. for his Holy Spirit to run through both vyr veins.” She murmured to herself in the pitch black night.

"Your mother and newborn sister will be healed and protected by GOD, Mathilde. By all means your mother will wish to see you upon her recovery, best to collect those flowers now." Richard smiled as she ran off to fetch some guards to collect the flowers she so desired to gift to her mother.
