A notice is pinned to every possible frequented noticeboard across Southern Aevos.

Salutations, God bless you.

I, Jover Mossheart,  have come into the possession of knowledge most valuable–  the location of the legendary ‘Emperor’s Chalice’, an item rumored to have heavenly properties capable of healing any disease. Naturally, this has attracted many ruffians to it, each seeking to stake their claim onto the relic for their nefarious means to no avail. However, I am a desperate man. My family has caught the Bloodrot, my wife and my firstborn son, and so I implore you to come and assist me.

Two insidious cults have taken root in the dark chambers beneath my feet. I seek to have them vanquished for the safety of all of us. Dark shadows that take the shape of men, wretched Dark Dwarves, and Dark Elf cultists down in those caves… Mori’quessir donning the flesh of men as clothes! Pray tell, when might you come and offer me your services to destroy them?

It may be wondered as to what prevents me from seeking out the Chalice alone, to which I must describe that I have already been injured by the dark arts in such attempts, for the ruins and caverns in which the relic resides are teeming with God damned Ibleesian powers. Shadows, despite their immaterial nature, injured me in my attempt to find the Chalice and the other jewels teeming to infinity beyond that Sacrosanct Gate.

Thus, I do find myself compelled to assemble a motley crew of Adventurers, hereafter named Dunmire’s Regulars, to assist in my retrieval of the Emperor's Chalice, from which may we all benefit once acquired. Should for whatever reason the Chalice be not your interest; but rather the adventure, I have allotted my life’s savings to seeing those who answer my call be paid well. It is hoped that this is enticing enough.

You may find me traversing the land in search of you all, or leave your interest by these letters and you will be contacted shortly. Please include a resume and be prepared to tender me a ten mina fee, so that we might escort you here safely without the Devil’s agents taking you.

I most humbly await your participation,

Your Ally,

Jover Mossheart

Dearest Jover Mossheart,

Hark! Your missive, like a radiant phoenix, did soar into mine hands and filled mine heart with both trepidation and anticipation. Verily, I, Rowena, a seasoned adventurer, bard, and fire sorceress of no small repute, doth find thy plight intriguing and worthy of mine attention.

I extend mine sympathy for the plight that hath befallen thy family, caught in the clutches of the dreaded Bloodrot. A curse as foul as a dragon's breath, and one that no mere healer's poultice can remedy. The mention of the legendary 'Emperor's Chalice,' said to possess miraculous healing properties, doth tickle the chords of my adventurous spirit.

The nefarious cults that skulk in the shadows beneath thy abode shall not escape mine scrutiny. Dark Dwarves and Mori’quessir garbed in the guise of men? Fie! Such abominations must be purged from this realm, and I, with my bardic tales and fiery incantations, shall lead the charge. I commend thee for thy wisdom in not braving the perils alone, for the abyss below is rife with Ibleesian powers that would give even a seasoned adventurer pause.

Verily, I shall join thee in assembling Dunmire's Regulars, a fellowship bound by fate to conquer the darkness and lay claim to the Emperor's Chalice.

The promise of both adventure and recompense doth sweeten the proposition, and I, Rowena, pledge mine blade and flame to the cause. Enclosed herein is my resume, chronicling the ballads sung in my honor and the fires conjured in the name of justice. Rest assured, Jover Mossheart, that I shall be prepared to tender thee the ten mina fee upon our meeting, ensuring safe passage through the treacherous lands. Await me eagerly, for I shall make haste to join thee in this noble quest.

One of Mosshearts various fliers ends up in the clawed hands of a particular devil. Within the coming days, a response is sent, a rolled-up note attached by string to the leg of a raven. The call was answered.

To Jover Mossheart,

I hope this letter finds you in good tidings, though from the contents of your notice, I predict such is not to be the case. I am sorry to hear of the affliction that grips at your wife and son. Sickness is a terrible thing, and I can only hope they might soon find a swift recovery.

I write to you in offering my services to help you pursue the artifact you call the Emperor's Chalice. I'm no stranger to adventure and braving the perils of certain death. I'm a huntsman by trade, what some might refer to as a ranger. I've spent many years up in the Crothstad woodlands, hunting all manner of beasts both mundane and supernatural. Just recently a host of demons have invaded those woods, pig-like monstrosities that I have epipheted as boarbeasts. I've done battle with these abominations on many occasions now alongside my companions of the Company of the Cracked Claw, and have even done battle against the legendary Shuul and lived to tell the tale. For those reasons, I would not call myself a mere game hunter anymore. I am skilled with both shortbow and falchion, trained by an old hunter known as Rainer Eckhart whom prowled the Crothstad for generations of yore. I am a survivalist, having spent nearly a decade living on the road and amongst wilderness. Forests are my preferred biome to track and hunt, but I feel I could learn to track within any place and region.

Though I cannot speak for the rest of my comrades of the Cracked Claw, I offer you my own assistance induitably. Such an object of power in the hands of malicious fiends like the Deep Dwarves or the Mori'quessir could prove doom for us all.

I stand ready. You need only pen me a response to affirm me.

I shall be waiting,

Baalial Dralguna

Taken from one of the many pinups from the South, a small construct would return the said offered note back to where it was placed.

Dearest Jover Mossheart,

I myself am quite interested in the offer of adventure that you have had offered to many of the south. Yet whilst I shall keep the letter short and too the point, do know i have quite the grudge against those of Mori'quessirs. My own resume detail of many of my ventures, from battling undead trolls of atheria, to creating of weapons known to of slain Iblessian generals alike. For those who are near their most grievious of wounds, the aid of the spirits would help in saving such from a twisted fate. Be it for the chalice or for the coin, it is an oppertunity one would not shy away from. So I eagerly wait your answer. Be it by bird or by person.

A thirteen young girl grasped onto the flyer to read it with much interest. She then wrote to the man despite her young age.

"Hello, my name is Kareena Isabel Nasrid. I would very much like to join in the party that you are making to undertake on this very task. I understand my age may be of question as I am a bit young, only thirteen of age currently. But I promise that I will not be of hinder and will play my part, sometimes having someone small and agile is better when it comes to tight underground caves. I was taught by my father how to fight and have been training in Balian. I am also hoping to learn the art of alchemy in a guild called Ak'vei in Kaethul. I will bring armour and weapons that are needed for this task, and even buy some potions for the trip. I look forward to hearing from you"

Signed,

HRH, Kareena Isabel Nasrid,

Princess of Cresonia
