hey guys, quick update on the construction so far

Me, Luchian and milan started work on the water works today, unfortunatley minecraft.net went down before I was able to take any pictures of it.

- It does not have alot of flowing water.

- The idea is purely from lord of the rings online.

- It looks awesome. will get some pictures asap (;

Here are some links to lotro water works:

Any questions or suggestions please feel free to add.

Another suggestion is instead of torches being used to light the great hall of Kal'urguan, a netherrack fire could be mounted on the wall and on the sides of the netherrack stone is placed, and stone is also placed below the netherrack to make it almost like some sort of lantern mounted on the wall. This could give it a better atmosphere and ambient lighting. Also, it could be a task for the colonists (or whatever we call the new Dwarves, us) to relight the fires as they find the halls dark and cold, the fires being put out for a long time. Of course, the darkness would produce monsters which will be fun to fight off as the newcomers attempt to relight the fires and settle in the city.

The part where they are put out at the beginning is just a nice touch and is not necessary, but I think the idea of fires along the sides is a good idea.

*looks at picture*

*looks at "does not have a lot of flowing water"*

*looks back at picture*

wut?

Well that's stationary water, most of it, and those streams arent to bad, just 2x2 in size.

allthough this picture was more about the architecture.

picky picky.

Or you could just have braziers with netherrack and fences.

We Will All Live UnderGround Yes?

Oh The Forest Dwarfs Will Be Pissed!

forest dwarves will live underground as well, but due to their lower fear of fallen up to the sky they will probably the only dwarves who can provide a small income of food, probably by hunting, or a small aboveground farm. and by cutting some trees ( small forest near the dwarven area )

just to clarify, there will be NO farms underground since plants grow with daylight it would be impossible for them to grow underground.

the only food source inside would be fish from the waterworks ( yep dwarven fishermen will have a bigger role supplying the dwarves with food)

If we will have fish again, can you reqiest the food toget buffed again, cause it doesnt heal

Anythong now and with buying fish it would probably heal your food bar some more, thatll be nice

And is i clear about what we get to keep in the new world?

Well, technically speaking, any sort of light will do, as long as it's bright enough. It's not like the plants can tell whether the light comes from the sun or a bunch of torches. And I'm not just talking about Minecraft plants, either.

And what about mushrooms? They don't need light at all.

mushrooms would be possible, yes but i don't want the capital to be invaded by mushrooms either
