What is going on in the sewers?!?

So I got the king's attention the other day and told him about this. There was some... destruction? In the sewers. He inspected it and told me it was just some sewage backing up, so that was the end of that...

...or was it?

Today i'm passing by the sewer entrance closest my shop, when I hear some oinking. I go to investigate. I don't find the source of that noise, but i notice some other stuff. The sewer damage seems to be increasing. There's now giant chunks gouged out of some of the walls, pieces missing from the canal, some leading into some watery-grave type stuff.

But there's more, I explored a bit further, and what I found disturbs me. There were three passages in an intersection, and upon investigating, I found a passage leading up into some kind of.... building, but it's got iron grates which I cannot get through, and I see things behind it.

I went down the other path, and noticed some tiles on the floor. Suspecting a trap, I tapped one with my foot and then quickly backed up, and sure enough, sticky pistons activated what would've been a fatal crush trap had I just blundered into it.

Down the third path, I found what looked like something out of the laurelin gauntlet, with jumps and lava and stuff. Across it was a chest, some gold and diamond blocks, and a sign reading "Power....Fame.....Fortune....." and pointing down another hall. Then I turned around and found a lava flow being held in place by what appear to be a bunch of signs. It all looked too dangerous considering I would be unable to dump a bucket on myself and put the fire out if I blundered into it.

So this leads me to ask.... what is going on in the alkhazar sewers? Is this some undead stronghold i've discovered? Is it too late to prevent their invasion?

This is why we need a group of the guard should protect and maintain the sewers. Its basically another entrance into alkhazar.

Well, lemme know. It would do no good for business if the forces of hell spring up out of my basement. I could investigate it more myself, but nought for the fact that I can't cut down spiderwebs, or pour water on myself should a flame incident occur.

Some preliminary scouting reveals that there is the lava path that must be navigated, and the pressure plates. Furthermore, we have discovered that the iron bars lead to the Castle. A more through search may be conducted later, with the use of staves.

The keep originally didn't have those iron bars, but where installed later on following an attack on the keep through the sewers. I saw this two and almost got killed by the trap. Luckily, a fellow activated it for me. ((I returned his stuff, so it wasn't too big of a deal))

I have looked through the entire sewer system, and have not found anything pertaining to undead. I shall keep looking as well as my men, and if we notice something then we shall act.

the missing parts of the walls and floor are probably from the attack on alkhazar, there were gaint slimes endermen on pigmen, gaint zombies, and silverfish. durring the attack i ventured into the sewers with a few friends and the walls and floor crumbled beneth us and silver fish rose from the crumbling blocks, then we stumbled upon a city containing a boat, i discovered a secret entrace on the boat leading to a cobblestone generator. i do not know what the people of the sewers are planning but i do not think it is good.

The boat was there a long time before the undead. However, I navigated the course and found treasure! But the chest was locked and the gold and diamond blocks to heavy for miself to carry alone. From there I only found a dead end. It seems that this is still in counstruction.

as of late, I've seen lots of undead on the rooftops of Oren
