I think this would be a good idea because the king is just to busy to host these events and as we have seen we hardly have any arena fights as it is. A thing it would bring is more people to the city, if you posted a fee of 50 minas per people who want to watch, the winner who won the contest would get lie 75% of the profit made by the people who came to watch? and also maybe a 100 minas fee for entering the fight So say 50 people show up and want to watch. That is 2500 minas then there are. It could be once a week on a day most people can attend, Ex. Saturday or Sunday. Like in the The elder scrolls game, Oblivion, The imperial city got alot of fame brought to it by the Famous arena. Also kvatch had a arena aswell before it was destroyed. Another thing that would be cool is the champion of the fights, Say you won three tournaments in the arena you could be named a champion and get your own title, like in oblivion the orc was named the gray prince. (( Yeah that's what i was thinking, I'll see what the king says about this and then maybe we can come up with more ideas on to what would make this better. And they can do daily sparring because I think professional fighters need a place to prepare for tournaments and events so the battles may be more interesting. Do you think this is a good idea? Also what sort of means do you use in the arena, do you use fists, swords, axes, bows? Because if you use swords give them stone or wooden swords and the fights will last longer. And for like the final fight you should allow them to wear full armour and use iron swords. I have quite a few ideas that could be used for the arena. Unless you were referring to this. Either way, I'm gonna start a guild/ club/ training camp for tournaments and hold small 1v1 matches where we invite the public. And I will be organising daily sparring matches as I think its a good idea to have a professional fighting sport instead of people just mindlessly killing. So I will start making plans on this and maybe create a small guild/ club/ camp for now and when 1.9 comes out I shall expand. I will try and arrange a few tournaments as well but obviously they won't be in the arena I'm not sure if we will get permission. Also if Trouvo is able to get permission that would be great. There could be two arena masters, a blue one and a red one, and a head master who sets up the events. Also i was thinking with the different styles people use, they can use anything they want, bow, axe, sword, magic maybe, (( depends on how powerful it is )) and make it somewhat make it look like the arena in oblivion with those pillars so archers/wizards can hide behind them from a warrior and do good amounts of damage. but in the new map they need to fix the lag and dont put any npcs back in. Expanding the thought of the champion, the only way to challenge him would be to win a tournament yourself maybe, lots of different things you can do. lemonjamulus 0 Share Posted October 18, 2011 If you are seriously going to do this, put the arena matches on the LotC Calendar or have a pinned thread for the times. It's getting really annoying missing everything because i don't know when it is. Also have a locker for your equipment so you don't lose everything if you die.
