From her office in Kastell Lesanov, Milena was brought word of the pretender-king's demise. Her grim features gave way to the lightest smirk, her opinion of that young queen now raised even higher by the clear loyalty of her people.

"Well that's got it done..."
Marcus remarked with tone of clear disappointment, for part of him wished his uncle had as much dignity as he flaunted.
"An ignoble end for an ignoble life I suppose."

"The False-King is DEAD. God save the rightful Queen." chanted Ser Karl Ludwig von Wittenbach, the announcement of the pretender's passing being raised up into the sky; if you betray your own family, you will rue the day GOD delivers His swift punishment, the knight thought, a wide smile shining on his lips.

Sir Atticus Reinhold checks his pocketwatch, as he hears the chants and cheers from outside. Though he’d been away on business for most of the proceedings, he can take a guess. ”That was fast, wasn’t it?” The tone reads that he’s not very surprised, nor was he ever quite worried.

After all, he’d seen Catherine carrying the yet-born Adalia with his own two eyes- Had been entrusted to watch after, to guard, and to entertain the young Queen he had sworn his loyalty to. He’d seen her from an infant to a young woman, and holds no shred of doubt that through her, a piece of his old friend lives on. Sometimes, he almost worries she is held too closely to her mother’s standard. A slightly mournful sigh leaves him, as he sits back in his seat. He glances out his study window, towards the crowd, muttering to no one in particular. “You were once my friend- Truly, you were. I wish you had not valued a slight over your sense of loyalty.”

Then, as simply as that, he returns to work.
