growingivy 3382 Share Posted July 26, 2024 Amongst the lands of the Petra, citizens will find something skittering about . . . . . . And the occasional frog. Amidst a couple of nights' work, something unexpected and troubling unfolded in the Petran fields. An influx of rats descended upon the fields and gardens outside Valfleur. With yellowed teeth, sharp and ever-growing, tender wheat stalks began to be found as stubbly remnants. The precious grains were swiftly consumed, leaving quickly growing barren stretches. The vineyards, too, fell victim to the unforeseen scourge. The plump and sweet grapes were plucked and devoured by the merciless animals. Barren vines are left in place, their fruits becoming a mere memory. The vines themselves were left, prime targets for the rats. Stripped from the lattice they grew on, soon becoming a tangled mess of what was.. The pumpkins, a symbol of autumn's bounty, also suffered a grim fate due to the pests. The rotund gourds, growing steadily, were under attack. Driven by hunger, the rats bore holes into the sides of these pumpkins. Tiny, persistent teeth worked relentlessly for their meals. The sweet, rich flesh inside was a prize too tempting, as the seeds nestled in the interior were especially sought after. The crops, promised prosperity, were on the brink of ruin.
Pintape 170 Share Posted July 26, 2024 Ilaedon was walking near Numendil when he had heard talk of rats near Petra, "Hmm . . . I do need two pet rats. . . Maybe I will find my 'soon to be' Hubert and Goobert near Petra?" With that, he continued on his way in thought.
gavyn 1362 Share Posted July 26, 2024 A Wick boy would be seen traveling the countryside, a cart full of cages and cheese, towed by a donkey behind him. Grumbles and curses were heard under his breath as he continued to grab rats day and night, until that wagon would overflow.

tadabug2000 4924 Share Posted July 26, 2024 A young girl, fair of hair, is none too pleased about the Petrans getting all of her snakes future dinner! She'd have to find something else to feed the crimson reptile now . . .
Tremerus 1188 Share Posted July 26, 2024 Aurel von Theonus had seen the signs of something tampering with the crops during an afternoon walk earlier that saint's day, but shrugged it off. He had plenty of steak to go around until the infestation was dealt with.

Turbo_Dog 3581 Share Posted July 26, 2024 The great horned rat sat on his mighty pile of goods, he had heard the news and began to scheme. From his pile of oddities an alchemical glass jar rolled out and into his head. Reaching up he took it with a grunt “Now this gives me an idea.” He said to himself as he peeled himself off the hoard and went to get to work. The great plan underway
