Fabric Mods - (1.20.6)

 

Preamble

With the server updating to 1.20.6, courtesy of the fantastic Tech Team, I thought I would create this Guide of sorts to assist the part of our playerbase which uses mods. All mods below are optional & are not needed to play the server, but in same instances could enhance it. I will be updating this Guide until the server updates to 1.21.

 

Setup

Before any mods can be installed, you’re going to need to install Fabric, although I personally prefer to use Feather Client for FPS & ease of installation, as it comes with Fabric already installed. Additionally, you can use Curseforge.

I will be adding steps of how to set up various different Fabric launchers shortly.

 

Dependency Mods

Dependency mods are mods required by other mods for them to function, or to optimize functionality.

• MaLaLib - Dependency for AdvancedChat & other mods.
  • Make sure you’re downloading the Fabric version.
• Fabric API - Needed unless you are using Feather Client.
  • Download the 1.20.6 version.
• Cloth Config - Dependency for Bobby, BetterF3, & other mods.

 

Utility & Misc

• Mod Menu - Allows you to access the configuration menu for your mods.
• Figura - Allows for insane customization of items & models for you & others.
• Replay Mod - Allows you to record various things & replay them at a later date.
• Stendhal - Advanced book & sign editing.
• Bobby - Caches server chunks to essentially increase your render distance.
• Advanced Chat - Allows for insane customization, such as different tabs for different server channels.
  • Find chat tab configuration below.
• WorldEdit CUI - Shows WorldEdit selections.
• BetterF3 - Its the F3 menu but better.
• Litematica - A mod for managing & implementing schematics.
• Litematica Printer - Addon for Litematica that adds a printer function.
• Skin Layers 3D - Makes the second layer of a skin pop more, creating more dimension.

For those of you on lower-spec laptops and computers, I'd highly suggest Modrinth as a modloader, as I personally found that Feather runs more inefficiently than Modrinth does, and it requires the launcher to be open for the game to continue to run, whilst Modrinth does not. Most mod creators have now moved over all of their mods to Modrinth as the company pays them properly for the advertisements placed on their pages, unlike CurseForge. This means you can download 99% of these mods DIRECTLY within Modrinth, and typically they're updated to their most-updated version on Modrinth. 

 

Also, some of these links don't seem to go directly to the 1.20.6 versions. I'd suggest an addendum to make sure that it leads you directly to that.
