Following the restoration of sole sovereignty to the Commonwealth of Petra and the dissolution of the Heartlander Confederation, the reformed River Council of the Petra assumes its role as the sovereign’s executive cabinet, named after the great River Petra, symbolizing the lifeblood of the Commonwealth and the essence of its society. It advises Her Royal Majesty on matters of significant importance, reflecting the core values and priorities of the nation. Led by the office of the Chancellor, the councilors uphold the highest standards of duty and honor, playing pivotal roles in shaping the future of the realm.

The Lady Chancellor of the Petra holds the dual roles of leading the Chancellor's Office and the Queen's government, making her the second-highest authority in the nation after the Queen. As the president of the River Council, she ensures that all councilors fulfill their responsibilities efficiently and uphold the nation's ideals and values. She unifies the various offices under her leadership, ensuring they work together to execute the Crown's directives and meet the needs of all citizens within the Commonwealth of the Petra. Additionally, as the primary ambassador of the Crown, the Lady Chancellor possesses the authority to hire and delegate diplomats to various regions, ensuring diplomatic prosperity and maintaining robust international relations.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Petra, second in command to the Chancellor, ensures the efficient operation of the Chancellor's Office. As the Chancellor's right hand, the Vice-Chancellor handles delegated responsibilities, serves as the council's scribe, and acts as the government's liaison to the people. They also undertake diplomatic duties, representing the Crown to foster international relations. As a key advisor on the River Council, the Vice-Chancellor provides counsel on governance, policy, and state affairs, while overseeing the office's daily operations, managing correspondence, keeping records, and implementing the Chancellor's decrees and policies. In the Lady Chancellor's absence, the Vice-Chancellor may be asked to assume full authority and responsibilities, ensuring continuity and stability in governance.

The Knight Commander of the Petra, as the head of the Petrine Laurel, is responsible for setting and upholding standards for both squires and Knights of the Commonwealth. Leading the Round Table, the Knight Commander ensures the practice of chivalry within the Commonwealth and has the final authority over the initiation of new squires, the confirmation of new knights, and the distribution of Round Table seats. The Knight-Commander will lead the knights of the Petrine Laurel in military endeavors, and assign duties and quests for its members to undertake. The position is filled through a vote by the members of the Petrine Laurel, with the selected Commander confirmed by the Monarch or a Regent.

The Master of Blades commands the armed forces and leads the Swords of Saint Emma, a position earned through repeated proof of skill, competence, and dedication. As a member of the River Council, the Master of Blades represents military interests and holds equal authority to the Knight-Commander in military matters. Their primary duty is to ensure the protection of Petra's citizens, safeguarding the Commonwealth with strategic leadership and decisive action.

The Grand Speaker of the Garmont Assembly heads the legislative body of the Commonwealth, overseeing its operations and moderating discussions among representatives. Responsible for organizing elections to select representatives for the Assembly, the Chancellor’s office, and the Mayor of Vallagne, the Grand Speaker plays a pivotal role in the governance of the Confederation. Serving as an impartial mediator and guide during assembly sessions, the Grand Speaker facilitates debates on bills, edicts, and amendments crucial to the Confederation's codex. They also manage assembly scribes and provide guidance to representatives on legislative procedures, ensuring smooth and effective deliberations.

The Grand Treasurer of the Petra oversees the Commonwealth's treasury, ensuring responsible management of finances and efficient collection of taxes. They meticulously document and track income and expenditures, maintaining transparency and accountability in financial matters. The Grand Treasurer plays a crucial role in economic health, taxation policy, and administrative management. Additionally, they oversee housing initiatives and census operations in Petra, welcoming newcomers and aiding in their integration into the kingdom. Beneath the Grand Treasurer is the High Steward, both responsible for hiring and managing steward. The Grand Treasurer ensures the effective functioning of their office to support the overall prosperity of the Commonwealth.

The Grand Chamberlain of the Petra oversees the River Court, ensuring it functions smoothly for festivities, events, and cultural gatherings across the Commonwealth. As head of the Courts, they manage daily operations and supervise servants and court members. In addition to administrative duties, the Grand Chamberlain preserves Petra's cultural heritage and ceremonial traditions, establishing essential etiquette and cultural protocols. They uphold the court as a prestigious venue for royal events and public engagements, embodying the grace and tradition of Petra's courtly life.
