Hooked Feedback Request

Greetings LoTC! I've recently regained interest in working further on the fishing system I designed for the server Hooked! I apologize for the whole year of little updates on the plugin, but I've been busy with my life alongside overall lacking the motivation to work on plugins. That aside, let's get into the meat of what this post is about.

 

I would love to hear what the community thinks about Hooked. I want to know what people think about existing systems, and potential new systems they want to see. Posted below are some questions I have for you all, feel free to add your own thoughts and concerns!

1. How have you enjoyed your experience with Hooked? Is it fun, and is the initial 'getting into it' easy to understand?
2. Anything you'd like to see improved with the current systems?
3. Have you at all experienced the overfishing mechanic in your time using Hooked?
   1. If so, how often and under what circumstances

 

Other than that, as I've stated, please write your feedback in the comments and any suggestions on where you'd like to see the plugin go in the future. I'll read through all of them, and I look forward to it.

I love the plugin a lot, but I'm of the opinion it'd be very neat if it was possible to edit the items you catch through the plugin! For example, I catch rare pearls, I want to turn them into jewelry, etc.

 

Edit: I'd also love to be able to soulbind items from the plugin! I had a persona who caught a Mana Mouse before, used it as a pet and all

YASSS! you have no idea how happy I am to hear your back at it! A bunch of musin and some halflings were going to have our fishing club meeting when the update killed the plugin big sad. ALL my characters have a fishing side hobby as i think it adds so much to roleplay. in my little over a month here i have fished SO much and i'm glad my first day someone was fishing to show me how fun it was.

 

first off i forgot about the overfishing mechanic, but that make sense i though it was the ocean i rarely went to gave better loot than the city pond we all fished at. I thought it was an ocean thing tbh. the different bioms are sooo cool!

 

I loooove this pluging it's so fun to be in a roleplay and encorpirate the most random things in because i have them. (the junk bag is my BEST friend allowing me to carry the things to facilitate a random moment:

 

handing someone a jade monkey as a friendship token.

 

or when a fae wants teeth and you hand them a skull

 

Can i just tell you the day my human fished up a trident then went into battle against a sea creature so many people went OOOO and AHHH and I felt so cool.

 

Telling the wishing fish tail to a child then catching one live for her to "catch"

 

pearls are such a cool gift for people

 

handing someone a broken compass and saying it leads to trasure.

 

My musin using a lost peg leg as a fancy club

 

Worn saddles work in a pinch to get a wild horse to a newbie for a tour

 

wet rope is an uncomfortable agent to tie someone up in

 

rusty bell over someones head to get away

 

Old keys you give to a child to "find their own adventures and unlock the doors to new opurtunity" how they take that is not my problem

giving someone some fish to prepare over a fire while we tell stories

 

there is so many more but this is just what i remember it adds so much 

 

Contructive feedback:

 

Lost atlas being an actual story would being amazing

 

The fish in the bucket when you place them down the timer restarts i cannot make a koi pond or a pet fish without them quickly becoming flesh making the bucketed fish really useless i don't really carry a net and bucket with me any more

 

when you place a fish the water stays in your bucket you can't place till you get to somewhere you can 

 

having like the crawfish be non edible is a little sad. I feel like things that should be edible. Should be edible objects i can't eat em so i normally toss them

 

I honestly am so jazzed your going to work on it again so excited your adding rp and stuff in so many ways. the guide i was showed the first day is straight forward and helpful, but when i teach others ic i always say you /could/ use a net and bucket but it's useless as you can't place em well without death. just carry a fishing pole, skinning knife and junk bag. having only the three tools in your inv doesnt take up as much room as having 5 or more with water buckets that couldnt be placed would be.

I also would love to like dry the rope or fix the rusty bell.  I FORGOT ABOUT MANA MICE i havn't caught them in so long i actually had the only one i caught stolen from me so that was sad while i was still a pink tag

need more non-rp fish for food its kinda hard to get alot of fish cause they are all rp and dont stack etc
