Minor Telekinesis

[Non-Combat]

 

Telekinesis was once a widespread form of magic, but nowadays it has been reduced to little more than a single spell learned by students of transfiguration. Born out of a desire for convenience, a former master of the magic sought to create a cantrip level spell that all mages should be capable of, provided they know just a little bit about how the world works. Imbuing an object with mana, the caster can then manipulate its position in the world.

Mechanics:

• [1] Emote to connect + [1] Emote to cast.
• Minor Telekinesis requires at least one voidal magic at Tier 2 to use.
• Minor Telekinesis is capable of lifting one or more objects at a time, provided the total weight does not exceed 5lbs.
• Minor Telekinesis can manipulate objects within 8 metres of the caster.
• If an object is under the influence of Minor Telekinesis, the caster's aura must be visible around the object.

Redlines:

• Minor Telekinesis is incapable of being used to throw objects, as any momentum given is simply too weak to do any harm.
• Minor Telekinesis is incapable of stopping thrown objects, as it can never exert enough opposing force.
• Minor Telekinesis is incapable of creating permanent floating objects, and is only usable provided the caster is connected.
• Minor Telekinesis is incapable of being used to inflict any harm on a person.
• Minor Telekinesis can have literally zero combat application whatsoever. It's a flavour spell.

 

 

Prestidigitation

[Non-Combat]

 

Each of the elemental evocations requires a great deal of time investment in order to learn the nature of what it is they wish to evoke. However, most students of magic are also familiar enough with the flame of a candle, the wetness of water, or a windy day. This knowledge proves sufficient in evoking forth the barest whispers of an element, sufficient enough for incredibly minor displays of magic.

Mechanics:

• [1] Emote to connect + [1] Emote to cast.
• Prestidigitation requires at least one voidal magic at Tier 2 to use.
• Prestidigitation is capable of creating minor, harmless, elemental effects such as a small ember to light candles, a droplet of water to snuff them out, a faint breeze of air, so on.
• Prestidigitation can be used to create these effect within 10 metres of the caster.

Redlines:

• Prestidigitation can only ever create minor, harmless, elemental effects.
• Prestidigitation can never disrupt someone's concentration.
• Prestidigitations cast only last a single moment, meaning once it is cast for its intended purpose, the spell then ends.
  • This allows you to light/snuff candles, or create a minor breeze, but means you can't keep those elements summoned like an evocationist could.
• Prestidigitation can only ever create a fingertip worth of an element, and nothing more. Droplets, embers, sparks, a minor breeze, so on.
• Prestidigitation can have literally zero combat application whatsoever. It's a flavour spell.

 

 

As cool as these both sound, these are already feasibly achievable via the corresponding magic pages. Imo this is a little too bloaty to be added given it is already possible if you take slots in the right evocations + transfig.

Ultimately we felt as if this would be better in Transfig, but Transfig can effectively already do these or something similar.
