This is a genuinely bad attempt at a necro summon patch

summon count seems scary but it's not that bad. i think there are some actionable things you could look at though

flesh golems are deceptively bad. 2 types of 2emote stuns "Due to their embalment," but this doesn't apply to 2 fullspeed with heavy armor average corpses.

but then you have flesh golem users like FelicorAugusto using lore animals like the drogokroko

and you already know you're cooked

having a catalyst (oculus/grimoire/conjurer relic) on horseback easily nullifies the redlines that purposefully make them simple to destroy/steal.

and like wowj said with invisible summons, even vip npcs can't be dropped on regions you aren't a member of

Problem is those animal summons were never supposed to be roleplayed like that, or rather, they weren't supposed to take mechanics of lore creatures or say the weight like an olog.

I agree w your points. I think the horse thing is a huge ******* problem. But I have no idea how to handle it as it seems more a moderator/st thing to prevent casting on mounts.

This week, if I manage. I'll try to look into this and try to write more stuff to balance it out and overly kill the summons.  I would say nor that I care about them. CRP is least of my focus with necromancy.

People who misplay necromancer summons to be annoying rather than a threat shouldn’t be grounds to blanket nerf the magic. It feels like punishing the community for a few bad actors.

Having a T5 necro only have a single flesh abomination (with no other humanoid) that can be stunned for two emotes (maybe one emote im not opening it i wont open the lore you cant make me) with a golden sewing needle means Necromancers will continue to be the dark MA laughingstock. Mystics and their vaguelore stays winning.

that being said, the magic needs a rewrite, summons aren’t the future of CRP but necro needs supplemental flavor and abilities if summons get nerfed/removed.

I agree with this for most magics, but that is not how ST functions from what ive seen. Scion got nerfed because two players were idiots. As necro becomes more and more widespread [like most dark magics nowadays], its going to fall into more disreputable hands. ST will probably argue its easier to just blanket nerf to prevent further incidents.

As someone who doesn't play a necromancer

Nerf them so I can bully them more and cry when I can't raid their lairs.

i think we should all see who can powergame the hardest instead

i want to feel my gut drop and have my heart pierced with a hopeless woe each time i face a dark mage. any measure that takes us away from that is incorrect.

First they came for the Paladins, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Paladin.

I'd also like to mention that Drogokrokos don't have heavy armour, they have their natural hide - and they are decaying. People just use human-slaying weapons on non-humans, which is silly. Use a warhammer and it's dead in like 2 swings

The thing is that it's not rlly casting. You're just giving an order that is magically understood due to the oculus. Smash oculus = it no longer obeys you.

If 6 Naztherak, or 6 Mystics, or 6 Bloodmages, or 6 Haeseni Knights with carb roll up on 1-3 people the outfit isnt really going to change. Necromancy, far as I see it, makes the necromancer do the damage through summons instead of directly. Maybe the strength of the magic IS that they can have a flesh golem and a humanoid summon, since no other summoning magic has anything even close to that scale of strength.

By your own words the amendment is retaliatory against some vaugeposted "bad actors" - if theyre bad make a report, amending it so everyone is worse off but your "bad actors" arent abusing it isnt addressing the actual issue you want it to.

Necromancy is a 4 slot magic which also has a PK clause if you die (you need to get revived). The power of necromancy purely lies in the summons, the individual necromancers themself are weak and basically lore-written to not want to do 1v1s

You can't use the mechanics of creatures. No matter what you say, your animal undead isn't supposed to take mechanics from st's creatures unless through a MART.

It's an ST signed item, though. Like it was very clearly put out there that it was an Oculus for a Drogokroko, and it was then signed by ST, not once- but twice. So I'm confused as to why you're acting as if it's powergaming to use a Drogokroko as a reanimation, when it's literally story team approved.

Necromancy is purposefully free-form, it encourages creativity.
