LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF

Holy Ser Godefroy d’Amaury

I, Holy Ser Godefroy d’Amaury, of sound mind, body and spirit, declare this document to serve as my last will and testament, to be in effect after proof of death. With this document, I pass my titles, land and possessions amongst my next of kin and other select individuals of note. I name Lector Enrique Cardinal Du Loc and James Cardinal Rhosmark as the dual executors of this will.

To my daughter, Elis Amelie d’Amaury, I leave;

  • The County of Rhoswood.
  • The Barony of Roussillon.
  • All land possessions not yet developed under the jurisdiction of the County of Rhoswood, including the Lankette pass and the ruins of New Dunbar.
  • The vassalage of the Barony of Oakenwald and its possessions.
  • My personal collection of wine, cigars, and books.
  • My personal suit of armor bearing the d'Amaury heraldry, so she may be shielded from harm.
  • My position as Patriarch of House d’Amaury.

  To Frederick Marna I leave;

  • My personal recommendation to succeed myself as the next Knight Vidame of the Order of the Holy Grail.
  • My personal blessing to marry my daughter, Countess Elis Amelie d’Amaury, should she accept and pledge to maintain the integrity of House d’Amaury.
  • The gift of my armor bearing the heraldry of the Order of the Holy Grail, should he wish to wear it to battle.

To my cousin, Holy Ser Vincenzo de Capua, I leave;

  • My personal armaments.
  • The permission to utilize my horse, the famed John of Aaun, to ride into battle.
  • My blessing to fortify the ruins of New Dunbar as a stronghold of the Order of the Holy Grail under the stewardship of House d’Amaury, should he desire.

Signed,

His Lordship, Holy Ser Godefroy d’Amaury, Count of Rhoswood, Baron of Roussillon, Knight Vidame of the Order of the Holy Grail, Patriarch of House d’Amaury

Gerard d'Athee stared at the publication of Godefroy's final will and testament in the latest wave of publications following the battle. He lamented his inability to be there and pondered their brief relationship together as he sipped wine by his hearth.

"Thus departs another scion of the noble House of d'Amaury..." he muttered aloud.

He hadn't done much to restore the dream of Lorraine in his brief time as a leader, and had sneered and treated the then young man with paranoia and caution when he had showed up to offer aid and counsel,

"Perhaps I should've treated him better," he ruminated.

Godefroy had done something he failed miserably to do: leave something of a legacy. He pulled himself up from his chair and went to his home devotional corner and lit a candle for the now departed and said a prayer for his soul.

Gerard poured himself another glass after the prayers were said and glanced at his own verdant armor.

"To Lorraine and old names, Godefroy d'Amaury." he said, as he raised a glass and pondered the future.

Elis held the will to her face as she fought heavily to not cry, only squeaking and choking on mere tears

”papa, don’t leave me….”

[!] A silent wind blew through the streets of Earosgrad. Though its movements kicked up debris from the road, the departing sea breeze rattled the residence of the mayor.

With an initially heavy heart she prepared herself to mourn yet another of her family  When...

"Oh... its just Godefory."

Fr. Marc Galbraith of Lemon Hill delivered the following remarks upon hearing of the passing of Godefroy d'Amaury:

"The world is dimmer today, for Holy Ser Godefroy d’Amaury, Count of Rhoswood, Baron of Roussillon, Knight Vidame of the Most Sacred Order of the Holy Grail, and Patriarch of House d’Amaury, has left us for the Seven Skies. But though his body may rest, his spirit shall endure, for he was more than a noble warrior—he was a beacon of unity in a world so oft divided.

He was an old friend of mine, a brother not of blood but of purpose. In war, he tempered steel with mercy; in peace, he sought always to bridge the chasms between men. He believed in a world where faith and honor could bind together even the most distant of hearts. His voice, though firm, was never cruel; his sword, though swift, was never unjust. Through his deeds, he taught us that strength without compassion is hollow, and that true knighthood lies not in titles, but in service to the greater good.

If ever a man deserved rest in the Seven Skies, it is he. May his soul find the virtue he so ardently sought to bring to this world, and may we, who remain behind, honor his memory by striving for the unity he held so dear.

Go now, old friend. The Lord has called you home."

A missive came into a tavern's mailbox, it's owner collected it along with the other adverts and letters scattered about. Annaliese Stroheim shifted through each one, preparing to toss them away before a more formal one caught her eye - one not addressed to her, but rather an old Employee - a former Barmaid. The blonde furrowed a brow as she read the details, a deep frown forming to her lips. It was clear she got the news delayed, furthermore - it was news she couldn't properly share with the woman it was meant to reach.

The Stroheim went up the stairs to an old room, one she kept for Aloisia D'Amaury when she stayed there.. She took out old keys from her pocket, opening the door and walking inside the room stuck in time. On the bed, Aloisia's dress laid out - as if she would be coming home soon, ready to get changed. But she wouldn't be, not long after the war started and Aloisia was taken back to Reinmar .. She passed. Withering away in a place that was never truly home, a place she didnt even want to be in but was convinced otherwise by her tribesman - she was always so gullible and niave, too much so for her own goo.. The barmaid placed the missive onto the bed beside the letter, idly packing a box of old belongings to bring to Ravenmire.

The married couple deserved to rest and be rembered together ..
