MANY DAYS I THOUGHT WE WERE BONDED BY BLOOD. In my younger years, I questioned who the foreigners were that my late father, Prince Thorin, spoke so highly about. I need not get into details that my mother already expressed to you, but know this: You killed my father. Whether by your hand, right or left, your allegiance is to be tied, blamed, and spat upon. Yet my father was just. If he saw John as he did in living, and saw friendship even in the grim, I must then write to you differently than my grieving mother.

 

YOU FOUGHT IN SIN; NOW RETURN IN GRACE. Today, our forces annihilated the Covenant. If you do not draw back now, you will be annihilated too. Consider how it will worsen as the days continue, until our forces see that every one of your loved ones who engage in this miserable and numbing war are put down to the sword. The renaissance of Balian’s culture will cease and the world will forget your names. If you loved my father as much as you claim, and speak of him as you do, I urge you to reconsider your stance in this war, as you send warriors to die fighting righteous fathers and friends. Bow your head before the Holiest of Hosts, and turn against the Demonic Covenant. Turn to Him, and I will forgive and advocate for you. Turn against Him again, and you are surely lost.

A RESPONSE FROM FATHER MARC

In the Year of Our Lord, 2022

To the People of Balian,

 

With solemn prayer and righteous conviction, I write in unwavering support of His Royal Highness, Owyn Demitrey Rostova, Duke of Eredmar. His words are just, his warning dire, and his mercy great.

 

The Lord Almighty, who reigns above all, sees into the hearts of men, weighing their deeds in the balance of His divine will. The hands that have lifted sword and spear against the righteous must now decide—will they continue in the way of bloodshed and ruin, or will they humble themselves before the Holiest of Hosts and seek His boundless grace?

 

For too long, the fires of war have consumed the land, and now, with the annihilation of the Demonic Covenant, a path is made clear: to persist in sin or to be reborn in virtue. Those who once waged battle against the just must now heed this divine call and turn their faces towards the light. The Duke, though burdened by loss, offers not only a path of survival but of salvation.

 

Balian stands at a precipice. If you continue upon the road of destruction, you will be cast into darkness, remembered only as a people who turned away from GOD’s mercy. But if you kneel in humility and cast aside the yoke of wickedness, the Lord shall restore you, and His grace shall cover you like the morning sun.

 

I implore you, as a shepherd of faith and a servant of the Almighty, do not let pride be your downfall. The Duke has extended his hand in mercy; take it before it is withdrawn. Turn away from the path of damnation, and the Lord shall welcome you back into His fold.

 

May the Holy Light of GOD guide your hearts and cleanse your souls. Amen.

I HAVE VERY LITTLE TO say in regards to this missive.It is foolish to argue with a wall; it is foolish also to dedicate one’s livelihood to a single man’s legacy rather than fight for the future of your Kingdom. The good Prince Thorin, GOD rest his soul, may be dead, but his death is not the end; to attempt to persuade the Covenant’s just cause for a personal bias proves that your own morals are as flimsy as the bog of the Lowlands you have built your Principality on. However, I digress.

 

AS I STATED IN MY previous letter to the Princess Alicent, I do not allow people to take my own work and designs and use them against me. You have disregarded this in a single breath and use missives that I designed to intimidate and harm my people. Thus, I entirely revoke my permission to use my designs. Cease immediately. Using your enemy’s work is rather unbecoming anyway.

Hello my friend! This is in fact metagaming. Allow me to explain why!

The format was gifted to us oocly with no RP interaction. You did not design the format for us IRP,  you did not ask for payment ooc or irp to design the format, you willingly gifted it to us.

 

Now, I completely understand asking us to not use the format you made for us on an ooc level. Had you asked oocly, perhaps in DMs, we would have no issue with respecting your wishes. Instead, you have brought an OOC opinion IRP when there is ultimately no RP to actually back what your character is saying. I kindly ask that you remove this comment.

 

Out of respect for you, and out of respect for our friends on the other side of the war, going forward we will do our best to make our own format that we will use ourselves. However, I kindly ask you to refrain from bringing this IRP, because as previously stated, you gifted this format to us OOCly without any RP interaction over it.

You bear a title dating back to the days or Oren, the empire you claim to fight against, and yet you prove yourself as volatile as your ilk from the aspirant tsardom of haense that spawned you. I did not speak on the cowardice of the Balianese, but of the Haeseni, and furthermore the messages of my brother and I were not to cause fear or harm, but to protect our blood, which you, regrettably, are amongst. Balian is fighting an uphill battle upon which a boulder is rolling ever closer. Forgive us for not wishing to see you crushed. To my knowledge, almost every man captured from the realms of the covenant were spared--indeed, the greatest "punishment" they faced was an hour or two in the "Shake and Bake", which I believe is some sort of amusement ride that I myself desperately yearn to visit. Yet when a good Canonist Prince was captured, he is executed. 
 

You speak of wandering children? I am that child. I wandered at first because I was in love with the world around me, now it is to escape the bone-deep nausea and pain of grief. Not only my own, but my poor mother's. My brothers'. My sisters'. Seeing as you have betrayed your GOD and your own kin in such haste, I would not expect you to understand loyalty.
 

You speak of betrayal? I have felt the knife of betrayal twist within my back with every day my own godfather, King John, along with you and your kin, continue to stand with the anathema. Furthermore, I am a grieving girl of thirteen and you are a bitter old hag attempting to admonish me for the crime of missing my father and seeking to protect my own.

Hi so all of my formats have been made irply by one of my personas, and it’s also still my work though. Also I was told I’d be paid for it and never was, so. Please stop using it. If amends are made sometime irply then Esfir would give permission to use it again, and I would too, but like I said I am still the creator (who was never paid)

My issue does not lie in the fact that you are oocly requesting we do not use the format. As a matter of fact, I said in my previous comment that per your request we will in fact stop using it.

 

However, to my knowledge there was no IRP interaction between your character and Emi's who you gave the format to. There was no RP request, no RP was involved. You cannot claim that your character made AND gave it to our characters when there was no RP involved. Again, as previously stated, we are more than willing to respect your OOC wishes, but do not involve RP in this matter when this neither originated from RP nor has anything to truly do with RP. You gave us the format OOC. Therefore, I request that you keep it OOC.

I would like to firstly say. I am no great fan of being accused of not paying when you explicitly stated I did not have to. I was not intending to do any OOC bantering back and forth on anything related to the war. https://imgur.com/a/omgN2xw

Out of respect, I have removed it from the court discords but I do not appreciate being accused of two things that DID not happen. There was ABSOLUTELY no roleplay interaction as you can see in the imgur above and I told you I would shove mina in your face as gratitude. If this was an issue of "not paying" you should've initially asked for payment and I would've given it but because it was prefaced as a "You don't have to do that, just give me credit." I did not end up finding the time to hand over the mina. Secondly, this is a bit cringe that we're grown adults fighting over a formatting template and bringing it into roleplay to begin with. I have no ill will towards ANYONE involved in this, I simply don't enjoy my name being slandered over falsities and I hope this does not end up leading to our friendship ending. I wish I would've been reached out to before this become such an issue to this extent, that is all.
